Very disappointed! We’ve been customers since 1995. Always was my favorite BBQ place. When we moved to Colleyville, 15 years ago, we would still order from the McCart location, for our family parties. This Mother’s Day, we ordered BBQ, because my children would be coming to visit. I had preordered German sausage and sliced brisket. When we got there, they immediately took the money for the order. It was supposed to be ready for 6:30. People came and went. My husband asked a couple of times about the order. They said it was almost ready. They tried to make him pay for it again. He told them we had already paid. We showed them the receipt. The girl said, she just didn’t remember. 45 minutes later, my husband went up to the door and asked about it again. We finally got it. When I initially ordered. I specifically said that Cousins was more expensive than other places, but that it was worth it to me, because I like my meat to be lean and thin sliced. My sausage was delicious as usual. I ordered 5 lbs of sliced beef. I actually got about 3 lbs of beef. Very few slices of the thin beef. A lot of chunks of the outer crisper burned edges. I got at least 2 lbs of fat. So, I actually paid $40 for nothing but fat. I also ordered a quart of broccoli cheese rice. It was gross. Not the standard. It had no taste. It was like a soup. Grease and cheese. The rice was not cooked. It was just not the same. I don’t think I will come back again. The Cityview location was also a great location, when I lived in SW Ft Worth. The location in Keller, is not good in the evenings. I’ve never been during the day. In the evenings, the food is all dried up. You can tell that it’s just been sitting there. It doesn’t look fresh like at the...

Cousins will always be my home BBQ. No matter where I go, compare it to Cousins. I ate Cousins when I was a child, and grew up knowing 'boots' He came to my Eagle Scout court of honor, and was there for me when I got out of the Army when I was struggling. I could always pass the Bryant Irvin one and he would help me out with a plate from now and then. His words and wisdom are ones I will never forget.

The BBQ is straight forward and too the point, it is no frills and nothing special. I say that because with all the bbq joints that we have in TX, Cousins BBQ is simply put the way bbq should be, there is no fat in the brisket, the chopped beef is perfect; not to chunky, not mushy a perfect blend, lean and not chewy, the sausage is delicious and the chicken is simple and tastes amazing. The Spud topped with Beef or straight forward is amazing.

All of the sides are amazing, Cole slaw is the best I've ever had, either of the beans are top notch, the corn cobs are top notch, the fruit in the summer is the best and I could eat a tray of cobbler.

This is all said because I don't live near a cousins anymore and as a child there was nothing I would not eat. The BBQ joints I have near me, my kids won't touch a thing they...

We’ve lived in the neighborhood for over three years and always drove by and said “we should try that place!” We don’t eat out much, so when we do it’s hard to pass up established favorites on our short-list.

MAN HAVE WE BEEN MISSING OUT! First, the staff was so incredibly friendly, helpful, and warm. Even as hot as it likely is behind the counter, they professionally and positively demonstrated social distancing and mask wearing, even at the last minutes of the work day. Second, the food is amazing! The sliced brisket is exactly my ideal brisket, even if it’s a little lean for my wife’s preference — still super moist and falling apart. So, so good. We also ordered both types of sausage (because while we all know a Texan prefers jalapeño cheddar, it’s important to confirm they can master the basic sausage first).

We were a little worried when we didn’t see fried okra out on display, but when I commented aloud “they may be out for the day”, one of the gentleman clearly understood our need and responded “it’s made to order.” JUST AS IT SHOULD BE! It was heavenly.

This has now made it to our short-list of local faves. Thank y’all for a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to...

One of the 2013 Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Joints, which vanished from the list in 2017 and did not reappear in 2021. This was our 93rd 'cue stop in the Lone Star state, and the 383rd nationwide. We found the 'cue here to be very good; indeed, we would rate it higher than what is on offer at over a dozen of the places on TMM's list. The menu here offers real strength from top to bottom. $46.02 purchased a brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage sandwich with house made fries, a Bev's smokehouse salad top with sliced brisket, a second side of Texas street corn, and a banana pudding. The salad was huge, fresh, and topped with brisket that was well smoked, with terrific bark; it was moist and tender even at five in the afternoon. The sausage also proved top notch, with good snap and sharp flavor. Both the fries and the street corn were excellent, and the banana pudding was so good that we went back and got a second order to go. We call this “destination 'cue,” and we strongly recommend that our fellow 'cue fanatics give it a try.

This place is amazing! After visiting the Ft. Worth botanical gardens, I decided to try out one more BBQ place before we travelled to our next stop. We got there right as they opened, thus beating the crowd. We ordered the Three Meat choice which included 3 slices of brisket, 2 pork ribs and 1 german sausage. We got two sides with that but we wanted to try more so we had coleslaw (of course), collard greens, their creamed corn, and potato salad. All were wonderful. The slaw was especially good. Now, the meats: brisket was tender and very flavorful, the ribs were meaty and tasty, and my wife (the sausage savant) thought the sausage was fabulous. Great service at the order counter (it’s a walk-up, order and take to your table place). Friendly and upbeat. Clean and neat. Great photos and illustrations all over the walls made for some perfect atmosphere. We highly recommend this place!

It's been awhile since I've been in here because the last time (2 years maybe) I left pretty disappointed. It's been awhile so I figured I'd give it another try. Man has this place gone downhill. The place inside looks pretty much like a BBQ place. Kudos. The staff was friendly, kudos. The food though... The fries were greasy and limp(a sure sign of bad fries) the sandwich was small. I always go to a competitor and get ribs, sausage and 2 sides for $18 and leave there stuffed but I was left hungry after this meal and paid $17 and some change. I won't go back since they have shown a decline in performance over the past few years. Sorry guys. You lost me.
