I understand that kids are usually going to be hired for these types of jobs but they need to be clean and have basic hygienic practices. No employees were wearing gloves and all had hair down over the shoulders. One employee was handling pizza with his bare hands. It didnāt really look like he was working but more like he was playing with the pizza. I watched him point to it on the tray and laugh with another employee. It looked like it had been removed from the buffet but then after playing with it he put that one single slice back onto the buffet. The worst part was I watched him then take off his hat and run his hands through his hair wiping sweat off his side burns then started pulling/combing loose hair off his head with his fingers & flicking hair to the floor from what he pulled out of his head. Then he proceeded to use his hands (without washing them) to to go casually rearrange the pizza in the buffet as if he was bored rather than actually condensing the trays. I watched him wipe his nose with his hand , touch his mouth and never wash his hands before handling food. It seems like itās only young kids working and clearly they need supervision because they are too immature to know basic food handling safety. Unfortunately I cannot trust being able to eat here ever again which sucks cuz I live in the neighborhood. I get that the job attracts young kids but this is not acceptable. I was 18 once too and worked as a barista. I never remember any kids being so gross or immature like this. Times have changed big time. Iām shocked at how gross he was and out in the open. He obviously doesnāt see a problem with his behavior which scares me to think about what happens to food in the back. The salad bar was not fresh and super slimy. I bit into a rotten cucumber too. The employee is the one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited my parents in DFW for my birthday, and as a pizza lover they wanted to take me to Mountain Mikes Pizza. This is a pizza parlor chain we used to visit regularly when we lived in Northern California, and they knew it would be nostalgic for me.
While the location wasn't extremely close to us (40min away), the interior was very clean, and it was obvious that this establishment was relatively new. The staff was friendly, and the ordering process was painless.
Unfortunately, the order receipt machine that relays orders to the back ran out of paper and for some reason even when they replaced the paper the system isn't set up to print those orders stuck in limbo. We had been out most of the day, and hadn't eaten much because we knew this would be filling. 40min had past which we thought was a little ridiculous, and the staff actually noticed that we were still sitting without our food and they investigated.
I will say, while it took us over an hour to get our food, the staff was apologetic. They comped our meal, gave us a side of garlic knots which are super delicious. And the pizza, when it finally came out, was delicious and was even better than k remembered it.
I hope my experience was a one-off, but again, they were gracious hosts and they made the situation right.
Pizza-lovers of TX, I would strongly recommend you at least try this establishments. The sauce is incredible, and the pepperoni cups are what make it Mt. Mikes pizza. I am so excited to see them popping up here, and I would hate to see them go.
Some tips:
Try the garlic knots or the new jalapeƱo garlic knots. If you want a healthier option, dine-in and check out their fresh salad...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePrices are high. I ordered a small 10inch cheese and half pepperoni pizza for $17. I also ordered 12 wings. But since I wanted 2 flavors, I had to order 2 separate 6 piece wings for $9.99 a piece. I asked if I could get all flat wings the nice unknowning young lady said yes. When brought to my table it was mixed with drums. The chicken nuggets at McDonald's are bigger than their bone-in wings. The manager did re-do the order for all flats and was told they don't do specific wing segment orders. Two of the staff members were horrible! One with the same gloves on that he was using to handle food and cut pizzas was scrolling through his touch screen phone. He also threw a tantrum For reasons unknown which is still unacceptable, he yelled aloud "the F'ing pizza is right here!" everyone in a dining room and everyone standing at the counter waiting for their order to come up could hear him. The manager did try to quiet him down. Then Not even 10 minutes later another employee comes in without a uniform shirt. So he is one. Then he yells aloud for everyone to hear, "I'm not wearing this ish" then he walks out. No part of this 1st time experience with this company was...
