Well, maybe we went on a day where staff was short, out sick or I don't know.. I had dreamed of coming here every time we drove by in the past. It looked so cool.. My wife had been ill as of late and wanted to go once she was better so some dear friends surprised us and took us yesterday on a Sunday around 3:30- I walked up feeling like Charlie in the chocolate factory but left feeling like Julia Roberts leaving Rodeo drive the first time after meeting the mean shop workers. Walked up excited, got on the list and was told about 20 minutes & feel free to wait outside on patio, nice day etc.. So we looked around and sat down outside on a round table on the far exterior of patio. 10 minutes later a staff member said " did you check in with front" as the tables with wrapped silverware were awaiting already checked in guests, so we said.. no prob, smiled and went and sat by the fire pit.. Nice place by the way, I'm looking at pics of food, people, nice day, etc.. but 35 minutes later, no text and still no one at the table we originally sat at... as a matter of fact I counted 7 other tables with silverware on them outside and no customers at them. Our guest who took us then said hmmm, something's wrong ( she was mad at this point ) and called the Press phone number and was told that they had text "several people" ( I guess they meant us?) but we never got it and to just come back in and we'll get you seated. Our party leader elected to just leave at this point... so we left and just went to Central Market patio. As I left I could'nt help but feel what might of been and hoping that maybe they were just short staffed or having a bad day. The reason I'm confused is most reviews are good for this place. So was it the first mention or was it us ? I can only share my experience. By the way- The original hostess that met us at the door was in a heated convo w someone as was VERY rude when we arrived like it bothered her to greet us at arrival. The Press Cafe looked like fun and had a great atmosphere for the most part but I left feeling like Charlie with no Golden ticket....... ...
Read moreI have been wanting to eat at Press Cafe for a few years now and finally got the chance to do so today. The atmosphere is nice, clean and comfortable. Our waiter was very nice but I had a suspicion that maybe he is newer. He was attentive with water but it took a rather long time to receive items we had ordered. The restaurant was not super busy so I was confused as to why things were taking a while. That over all isn't a big issue because I understand sometimes things are more chaotic behind the scenes than you realize. When it came to the food it was very underwhelming. The garlic truffle fries were very good and came at a price point of $14.50. The amount you receive is a lot and is great for sharing. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup which had a price point of $17.50 and you do not receive much soup, although the grilled cheese is a good size. Sadly once I finally received my dish it was room temp verging on cold. The cheese in the sandwich had hardened and the soup was not warm. My wife got the fried chicken sandwich at the price point of $17.50. The sandwich was very underwhelming and flavorless. The in house made chips were not hot or warm although I am assuming they were just fried recently. In conclusion my spouse and I were very sad that the food was lacking especially at such a high price point. The service is good and I never ever want to blame a server for these issues, they are just trying to to their job. My big issue is with the kitchen, recipes and pricing. For our whole meal it was around $75 dollars plus my 20% tip bringing it to $90. Just a warning to be cautious that you may be spending a lot of money for sub par food when you could go else where and receive better food for a...
Read morePress Café is hands-down one of the best dining experiences you can have in Fort Worth. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel welcome like you're a regular—even if it's your first time. The hostess greeted us with a warm smile, and our server was absolutely top-notch—attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food. You can tell they’re proud to work there.
The vibe is laid-back yet upscale, with plenty of natural light and beautiful views if you’re lucky enough to grab a seat on the patio by the river. It's a perfect spot for brunch, a casual dinner, or even just coffee and dessert.
Now, the food—phenomenal. I had the Press Burger and it was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful with just the right char. The truffle fries are addicting (you’ve been warned), and the avocado toast is elevated with a creative twist that sets it apart from the basic versions you find elsewhere. My wife ordered the salmon grain bowl, and it was fresh, colorful, and packed with flavor. Even the kids' menu items were a hit with our picky eaters.
The drink menu is impressive, too—from fresh juices and craft coffees to well-curated wines and signature cocktails. The iced lavender latte was a refreshing surprise, and their bloody mary has the right kick without being overpowering.
All in all, Press Café nails it—great atmosphere, exceptional customer service, and food that keeps you coming back. It’s a Fort Worth gem that deserves every bit of its...
