Took my beautiful woman to the posh side of town. Had one of our best dinner dates. A little Bday dinner in Arlington Heights, she is always worth it. So, this is a mixed bag. The restaurant itself is very nice. Architecture fits the neighborhood with a lot of brick and glass and modern ranch style appointments. We found the table spacing and ambient noise level to be completely acceptable as we were able to converse in normal voices without overhearing other conversations. We were seated immediately and the service was beyond reproach. Kylie had menus and water immediately and also cleared the wine glasses when we told her we didn't drink. Derrick was right behind her with recommendations and answers. Throughout the meal, Kylie and Derrick were attentive, asking if we were satisfied, but without hovering. The meal pacing was on point, allowing enough time to finish and savor one course before the next arrived. At no time did we feel rushed. And, even though we don't drink we could appreciate the impressive glass wine room and well stocked bar. Also, patio dining is available. High marks... so far. The food was a different story. For appetizers I ordered the Sizzling Thick Cut Bacon and my wife ordered the B&B Meatballs. The bacon, about 3/8" thick, while tasty, smoky, and well cooked, was not sizzling; in fact, it was barely above room temperature. The three meatballs were quite large (slightly smaller than a baseball) but were unremarkable. They tasted like meatloaf and I can make better in my own kitchen. For entrees my wife ordered the Bacon Wrapped Crab Stuffed Shrimp and I ordered the Chicken Fried Pork Chop with Bacon Confit, Sauerkraut, and Pineapple Glaze. My wife can't eat rice, which came with the shrimp so Derrick offered a substitute of her choice, which was the Sauteed Mushrooms in Balsamic. No complaints with her entree! Every flavor of the bacon, crab, and shrimp came shining through in delightful smokiness! The mushrooms were well cooked and the balsamic flavor was perfect. 5 stars on that plate! However, the only interesting thing on my plate was the sauerkraut. The breading on the pork chop was soggy, probably due to sitting in the sauerkraut juice, and it lacked any real flavor. The onion straw topping was completely uninspired and the bacon confit was room temperature and rubbery except for a tasty, crunchy bark on top. The sauerkraut, however, was divine! Sweet and briny, crunchy and well cooked, I sought out every morsel. Dessert for my wife was cheesecake, carrot cake for me. The cheesecake is a generous slice and, according to Derrick, made in the NY Bronx and flown in. I didn't taste it, but my wife said it was "okay." The carrot cake (my all time favorite dessert; I'll always order it when it's on the menu) was fine; nothing to get overly excited about but no real complaints. I've had much worse, but I've also had better. The meals were about $80 each and, for that price, we expect more than "okay," thus the 3 star rating. So, we probably won't return. There is an attached butcher shop where one can buy their own meats but it was closed by the time we arrived. They're also open for lunch and private parties and provide catering.

Bottom Line - this place is expensive but ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The service, quality of food, portion size, and general atmosphere were phenomenal. Food / Portion Size: The steak and ribeye literally melt in your mouth! My girlfriend got the filet while I got the bone in Ribeye. The afilet was cooked perfectly to rare and my ribeye was cooked perfectly to medium! Absolutely amazing taste and quality without any need of salt or pepper. We also order Mac and cheese, fully loaded mashed potatoes, and mushrooms. When they said the sides were shareable, we did not expect the portion to be that big to share. We were absolutely full when finished eating! Definitely ate enough calories for the whole day! Service: Our waiter was Brad, he was amazing and down to earth and made some amazing suggestion. Another waitet that helped us a lot and boxed our food was Lauren. She was super sweet and has the voice of an angel. Gina is one of the managers and she stopped by and was super nice and friendly. We shared in some laughs. Konnor is another manager, and he is super awesome!! Loves anime and is a dude you'd have fun grabbing a beer with. Our experience was made top tier thanks not just to the food but to the people and attention to service that was given. Adult Beverages: We got a bottle of champagne for mimosas and that one bottle had us feeling GOOD! My girlfriend ordered it so I can't specify the name off the top of my head, but it was absolutely delicious! Price: EXPENSIVE! So be aware! However, the quality, quantity, and taste justify the price so it's an even trade off. My bone in Ribeye was $75, the Filet was $65, and each side was about $15 per, with some fresh bread being $12. Our bill came out to $214.65 without the champagne, but again, it was money well spent, and we would return in the future! Atmosphere: Nicely decorated and relaxing. The only constructive criticism would be to diversify the music Playlist. They played kind of soft oldies which is exactly the environment, but there are soft oldies from other American artist that could be included in the shuffle if you get my jam. However, it was an absolutely beautiful environment and the restrooms have those thick paper towels and mouth wash for customers to use (fancy lol). Final Points - I am thankful for running into Konnor as a stranger. He recommended this spot to us, and it turns out he was a manager there. This place did not disappoint and I feel that it was money well spent!

TLDR: I do NOT recommend this establishment.

I ate at the FW location with my wife and friends (a sort of double date) on December 31, 2023 with a reservation time of 1530 hrs. We were seated promptly and on time.

The service: Our server was Kyle (I think). Kyle was okay. Food and drinks came out timely. He did make a remark about how anyone passing on the mashed potatoes "is missing out". My wife and I found that to be a bit off-putting as anyone should be able to choose what they eat without being heckled. But we shrugged it off, thanked Kyle for serving the sides, and continued our conversation with our friends. He also berated...maybe berated is a strong word, more of strongly discouraged us by letting us know to "...never ever use silverware to serve caviar". Well, Kyle, maybe you should have given us more than one ivory(?) spoon with the caviar. Why can't we just eat without someone criticizing our methods? Also, his recommendation on the caviar was bleh. He said "for the same price, I recommend [this one], it's better." Although, I cannot confirm or deny whether his recommendation was better or worse than my initial selection, I can say I've had better for the same price. My wife said the same.

The food: I ordered the dry-aged wagyu medium rare. This steak came out not just looking greasy, but left a greasy, oily residue after each bite. It lacked of that dry-aged, nutty flavor that one anticipates when ordering a dry-aged steak. Overall, my steak gets a 2/10 star. Such a disappointment.

My wife ordered their version of "surf and turf", also medium rare on the steak. The utter look of shock on her face when the steak was well-done said it all. I believe it was only 4 oz of steak, she left at least 3 oz on the plate. Moving on to her lobster. One would expect a tender and delicious lobster tail from a restaurant with a reputation like this, but we ended up with a rubbery, eraser-like toughness that made our calamari appetizer feel like a tender filet mignon. 1/10

My friend's wife ordered the dry-aged prime rib medium rare. This steak came out at least medium-well. She offered me a piece and I accepted. I can confirm, it was NOT a medium rare steak, but it at least had more of that dry-aged flavor than my steak. 2/10

My friend ordered the beef wellington medium rare. To me, visually, the steak did not look medium rare, I saw no pink/coolness to it. I did not try the beef wellington. My friend said his beef wellington was excellent and he would recommend. 9/10

I'd like to speak to the manager: Did we talk to anyone about our food while we were eating? No. We were simply enjoying the conversation among old friends after 2 or 3 years since the last double date. A few times we mentioned some flaws of the meal to each other, but generally the conversation would redirect to our lives. We were genuinely there for conversation, less for the food. So we had our conversations, foods, and drinks, and we ended the evening early. On the way home from B&B Butchers, my wife and I started talking more about the food and the experience with our server. I started to get more and more frustrated with the whole experience. We even felt a little embarrassed that we invited our friends to such a terrible experience. When I got home, I decided I had to at least tell someone at the restaurant about our experience, hoping to prevent it from happening to anyone else. I called and spoke with the General Manager, Gina. Gina and I spoke for maybe 5 minutes and she asked if she could call me the following morning (it was busy dinner service times and I absolutely understood). I agreed, Gina said she has my number, and I have NOT heard from Gina, or anyone, since NYE. Although, I am not sure what could have been done to "resolve" the situation. I will not accept a refund or a complimentary meal because I will not be returning to B&B Butchers.

In closing: I do NOT and would NOT recommend B&B Butchers to anyone. For around the same price, I'll just go back to Del Frisco's Double Eagle. Better food,...
