I was cruising down Azle looking for a spot to get some quick lunch. I saw Riscky’s and recognized the name. I was excited to pull up. I went inside and was impressed with the different style of decor and was salivating over getting some good Q. I ordered the Friday special, sliced brisket with 2 sides and a small drink for 13.99. Girl at the counter did her job. I got some sweet tea and didn’t wait long for my name to be called. Then I looked at my plate…. About 2-3 tablespoons of so called potato salad which was just potato salad flavored mashed potatoes as the only thing I need to chew was the diced onion and pickles. Looked at my Mac-n-cheese and it looked like the boxed store brand but tasted worse and had no texture whatsoever. The star of the plate was a few carefully sliced cuts of brisket. Whoever sliced it was a magician cause as soon as I attempted to pick it up it just crumbled. Dry and bland which is surprising considering they sell seasonings there. I decided to make a sandwich out of it as the bread had more moisture than the brisket itself. I can probably microwave a better brisket.

Update: Marketing must be tired of using the same response over and over by now. Yes you missed the mark, no I...

Traveling through Fort Worth and this place had high ratings so we chose to go out of our way to try it. Mistake! The staff taking the order wasn’t knowledgeable whatsoever. I asked several questions regarding their menu and I was given a “I don’t know” as a response to one. We ordered ribs, sliced brisket, and pulled pork as our meat. The ribs were tough, and the other two meats were completely bland. Our sides were potato salad, coleslaw, and fried okra. The potato salad was disgusting..:.complete mush. No complaints with the other two, but how hard is it to make fried okra. Pretty basic. We also got a “banana pudding” that fit in well with the rest of the meal as being disgusting. It was banana flavored instant pudding with 3 wafers on top. My two year old didn’t even want anything to do with it. I never leave poor reviews, but felt I needed to on this one. I’m convinced the only reason this place has any good reviews is because the owner has friends and family willing to give one. I can’t believe we went out of our way for this “pit” don’t waste your time here. This isn’t BBQ. I’ve had...

Let's just say I've been going there since I was a little kid with my parents and grandparents we lived right down the street from the original location . Was in the mood for barbecue and hadn't been there in a while so I figured I'd stop in. I checked the special board and it's the normal two meats three sides 17.99. normal price for barbecue. When I got my plate see picture. Had two little pieces of brisket and thin slice pieces of turkeys you can see. I figured it not being so busy my food would be hot unfortunately it was not. Pea salad was blah. Green beans same and they couldn't mess up the coleslaw it was okay but anyways I was saying I've been going there forever I'll probably be the last time I'll go. just a fair warning to everybody if you set the bar low you will not be disappointed. And I rated the atmosphere one star because I guess the kitchen was having a good time slamming things on the wall and making all kinds of racket like they were under construction it just wasn't very relaxing and...

FOR TRUCKERS: Deliveries come in on 183, then SE on Azle, N on Hannah. Park on right side of street. Their freezer is located there. If you see anybody working by where you parked that freezer you can talk to them otherwise just go in the barbecue shack and someone will help you. There is a lumper fee, and they unload your truck with a pallet Jack and forklift. FOOD: As far as their food goes it really is remarkable. Even the French fries which you would not think a barbecue joint would be concerned about, are absolutely perfectly fried and seasoned almost like they cook the French fries in duck fat; the flavor is gourmet quality. The ribs are juicy thick and they give you huge amounts and the price is really good. They have a huge menu and the place is full of ambiance, including a signed movie photo of John Wayne.
