Nestled in the heart of the Fountain Hills, Ping's Cafe is a beacon of warmth and hospitality. From the moment you step through the door, you're enveloped in a cozy ambiance that feels like a home away from home. I was greeted with so much joy from the owner, Ping, it was as if I was a son coming home from college after 4 long years. The staff here are more than just servers; they're like family, greeting you with genuine smiles and attentive service.
But it's not just the welcoming atmosphere that sets Ping's Cafe apart; it's the incredible Chinese cuisine that keeps patrons coming back time and time again. Growing up with the best Chinese food in the Chinatowns of California & Hawaii, I have high standards to say the least. I expect the dishes to be cooked by grandma in the kitchen with family recipes past down from generation to generation. Each dish is a masterpiece, crafted with care and bursting with authentic flavors. From the delicate dumplings that was created by Ping's 92 year old father to the savory stir-fries, every bite is a delight for the senses. For appetizers, we ordered the crab puff, egg rolls & BBQ pork. For the main entrees, we ordered the Hong Kong style chow mein with chicken, pork, shrimp; shrimp coconut curry; beef with green beans; and egg foo young.
What truly elevates the dining experience at Ping's Cafe is the impeccable service. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels valued and well taken care of. Whether it's offering recommendations, accommodating dietary restrictions, or simply checking in to see if everything is to your liking, their attention to detail is unmatched. My toddler and infant were getting fussy, and Ping even offered to hold my toddler so I can eat in a moment of peace- only something a mother would offer.
So if you're in the mood for a memorable dining experience that combines warmth, service, and fantastic Chinese cuisine, look no further than Ping's Cafe. It's not just a place to eat; it's a place to feel welcomed and appreciated by both locals, visitors, and snow birds. Come hungry....
Read moreFirst and last time eating here. Awful. Ordered Kung Pow Chicken and Moo Goo Gai Ping. The Kung Pow tasted like nothing but vinegar. An entire bottle of vinegar. Odd, when I make it at home, there is no vinegar. Totally inedible. Moo Goo Gai Ping was actually less edible. Tasted like spoiled oil and I'm not sure what else. The chicken was rubbery. Absolutely horrible. The only edible thing was the white rice, which wasn't anything special, not worth $25. Complaints fall on deaf ears. Forced to deny the charge. Plus, the inedible portions were quite small partnered with totally overpriced. The stench when walking in smells like an elderly person's weeping wound (yeah, that gross). If you've every been around a grandparent who wasn't taking care of their diabetes and had open sores, you know the stench. Should have walked out as soon as I smelled the place, but I read the good reviews and thought I'd give it a shot. Bad, costly decision. Whoever is leaving positive remarks must work for them or have no taste...
Read moreThe orange chicken and sweet and sour entrees were both delicious (extra crispy too!) If we had only been given the stuff served on the side (fried rice, spring roll, wonton, and egg drop soup), we still would have been so pleased it was so good. I typically am a heavy soy sauce user, but didn’t even touch it this time because the flavors of the rice were so deliciously amazing. The staff was nice and the soft background piano music soothing. Wish this was in our home town instead of just passing through so we could enjoy...
