The food's not bad, but this location is just disgusting. When I went here years ago, it was clean and good. Here, two young kids were taking orders, not washing their hands, then prepared food. For the 15 minutes I was there waiting for my to go order, I saw them sneeze numerous times without covering their mouth while prepping food. They would prep food, stop, touch their phones, then back to prepping food. One guy sneezed into his hands, was about to prep my food, then realized last minute he should wash his hands. He did...for 5 seconds. Another guy was playing with the tub of cheese while chit chatting with another employee. Basically like scooping it with his hand and tossing it around. I uploaded the video on Yelp and they had it removed. Since I can’t post videos on Google, I posted some screen shots. He tried to top my food with that nasty cheese and I stopped him. When he handed me my food, I saw his nails were black from all the dirt underneath. I literally tossed my food away cause I couldn't bring myself to eat it. If you go here, just keep an eye on the kitchen, you won't want to return. The location on Beach Blvd is much better than this nasty place. It's a shame cause I like their taco cups. edit: THEY HAD THE VIDEO REMOVED TO HIDE...
Read moreBeing on the younger side of history I didn't have the privilege of having had it in it's hey day. I can say I definitely see where the Del Taco roots came from. We had a few items, because this first trip was really just to taste as much as I could. So here goes!
Ortega burger - good size, bold chile flavor and not bogged down with a bunch of salt and over seasoning. It tasted fresh and delicious.
Classic beef taco - a perfectly fried, crunchy shell. Broke apart into what you would see as a tortilla chip. The beef was flavorful, thick and perfectly complimented the tomato and lettuce. Again, this tasted very fresh. The hot sauce served with it was also great with a good punch to it.
Bun taco - now this is original, and tasty! The bun held the ground beef in a perfect little pocket of happiness. The white sauce and fresh veggies on top made this truly great.
French fries - while they more or less resemble a traditional crinkle fry, I am almost certain they cut these in house fresh and fry them that way. The fried outside is crisp, bit not overdone, leaving the inside nice and fluffy.
All in all, I am super happy I went here. If say everyone should try it atleast once. I know I will be back!

Read moreWalked into Naugles last night, and I was immediately greeted by the nicest dude. After telling him that I grew up on stories about Naugles from my mother, and placing my order, I asked if it was his place. He informed me that he is the owner, and we talked for a few about the restaurant. I had to try all of the things my mother had told me about over the years. I ordered a ground beef hard shell taco, bun taco, a cheese burrito, and a small fry. The food was awesome! The quality was definitely more than I had expected. And, the prices are fair. The hard shell taco, and bun taco were my personal favorites! The cheese burrito and fries were equally awesome! There's definitely no skimping on ingredients! Even the green and red sauces were on point! As I was finishing my first item, Christian came over to check if everything was good, and we ended up talking and swapping stories for the next 20 minutes, or so. This is a great spot, with great food, and an owner who takes pride in the food he serves, and takes interest in his customers. I feel like I left with a great experience, a new go to restaurant, and a new...
