Has a variety of gear for every sport you can imagine BUT I had several issues with them in my one encounter. This is long so theres a Tl;DR at the bottom:
So SB has a deal where if you get a full ski/snowboard tune for $80 you also get $80 in store credit. Thats a great deal so I decided to use my store credit to get my son (high school junior) a new pair of football cleats so he could break them in before a college recruiting event in a few weeks he was invited to. Before I get into the complete and utter SNAFU with the cleats Iāll talk about the tuning service.
I ended up getting two boards serviced; one got a full tune with base grind, wax, and edge sharpening. The other was just wax and edge sharpening. When I picked up my boards the base grind was great, but thats where my compliment ends. You could literally see wax buildup on the boards, it was a terrible job and both boards lasted literally 1 day each on the mountain before they were completely dry. Yes, I shouldāve said something before leaving with my boards but I donāt like that kind of conflict so I just smiled and left. Most wax jobs last about 4-5 days on the mountain before they get that bad. I donāt know if they used rub-on wax or what but it was the worst wax job Iāve ever seen. I normally wax my own boards but I figured Iād capitalize on the great deal but that was a mistake Iāll never make again.
Now off to the football clear SNAFU: Since I got the store credit for the wax I figured Iād order a pair of cleats for my son who lives on the east coast. I wanted to order online so I didnāt pay for shipping but you canāt use their store credit online unless they order it for you at the store. Not a problem, I asked the cashier to order a very specific pair of FOOTBALL cleats and have them shipped to my son. I even gave her a picture of the cleats and she ordered them, or so I thought. But SB ended up shipping him BASEBALL cleats. A completely different cleat for a completely different sport.
I figured no problem, Iāll just reach out for an exchange, SB will send the correct cleats and my son would ship back the incorrect ones for an easy exchange. I was wrong again. SB wanted me to PAY for the original FOOTBALL cleats AGAIN and then have my son ship the BASEBALL cleats back to them before they would refund me for the football cleats.
So, essentially, they wanted me to pay them and trust that theyād send the correct cleats (after already messing it up once) before theyād correct their mistake and send my son the cleats he needed. I explained this was a time-sensitive matter because my son needed to receive the cleats and break them in for a recruiting event and asked if they could just send the football cleats and Iāll make sure my son sent back the baseball ones (he doesnāt even play baseball so theyāre useless). They said no so I requested a refund. They completely lost a customer because they already screwed up my order once and wanted me to trust them not to do it again but couldnāt trust me to return their mistake. No thanks. 2 stars because the base grind was good. Otherwise it would be one.
Tl;DR: Sports basement did two of the worst snowboard wax jobs Iāve ever seen then screwed up an important order for my son and failed (miserably) to correct...

I am a āconvertā!
As an avid snowboarder I have been to many different places for equipment or services, it pretty much just came down to who was close, convenient, &/or best deal. But after my last couple of visits with the staff at Sports Basement, I will not go anywhere else! Specifically due to Rich, Josh, & Isaac!.... There were others & I wish I could remember their names so they could get the recognition they deserve too!
First, let me start with Isaac who sold me my most recent snowboard. He was super knowledgeable, friendly, & helpful! I originally came in to ābrowseā a specific snowboard & ask some questions. After chatting with him about it, I decided this was the board for me!..... But it wasnāt in stock! So, what did he do?...... He called around some of the other stores & tracked it down for me & had it shipped directly to the store (my request) in about 5 days!
Next came Josh, also super helpful & friendly! Eager to get my new board, I called over to the store just to check in & see if had by chance arrived early, but it hadnāt. So, what did Josh do?...... He tracked it down for me, so I had a better idea of its arrival so I can plan accordingly (getting it waxed & ready for my trip). After we chatted, not only did he track it down, but he called me back to let me know it would be arriving the next dayā¦ā¦ Not only that, but he actually called me the next day to let me know when it had arrived!
Then, in came Rich (also supe knowledgeable, helpful, & friendly) to the rescue for the finishing touch to my new board for my up coming trip! I just didnāt want a simple wax job on my new board, but I wanted āPhantom Glideā (itās a lengthy process). After confirming it was a process that they could do, Rich told me he will get to it right away!..... & he did! Although it couldnāt be completed by days end (which I wasnāt expecting it to be!), Rich had stayed late to work on my new board so that it would be ready the next day!...... & it was!
Now, prior to this latest interaction. I had another one with Rich about a month before. I had an emergency binding issue just before I was about to leave for my weeklong trip to Steamboat. In short my binding was broke & I had ordered replacement parts onlineā¦. But the shipping had been delayed. After scouring all over town to try & get it fixed with no luck. My last-ditch effort, I ran to Sports Basement during my lunch break, only to come across my savior, Rich! Long story short, Rich hooked me up with a replacement part off of some old pair of bindings he had in the back, saving my highly anticipated snowboard tripā¦ā¦ Free of charge!!! (I hope he doesnāt get in trouble for this now, lol).
These guys are AWESOME!!!! I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!!
Ok, so maybe that wasnāt too short of a reviewā¦ā¦. But, also Iām not so sure this was a review for you/customer. But rather a review for them so that hopefully they get the credit & recognition they DESERVE!!!

Ā Ā Ā Read morei do have 2000 cervelo road bike..it was no problem , i brought my bike sports basement (10800 Kalama River Ave, Fountain Valley, CA 92708) for tune up to at 11.18.2024..the asistant checked my bike we agreed for tune up , i paid 250$ and there were deal so they gived me same amount 250$ gift card to shop later entire store ..then they asked me to come at 11.21.2024 on thursday for pick up ..after 1 day late pick up day 11.22.2024 , when i went there , the assistant said that they didnt finish work then i asked store manager to know what happened ..the Yuta is store manager came and he said that they needed to order part and you should pay 140$ extra additionally .i said ;Ā no you didnt let me know to pay extra on starting , i came for only regular tune up , my bike was working regularly and it didnt need to change any part..so he became mad and he said that you have to ,otherwise he would not release my bike he would not assemble bike if i dont pay extra ..then i became mad and i persuade him to assemble again my bike without switching any new part..he said me that ok you can come to pick up 1 day later , i thanked him while i was leaving store he said that you are not welcoming to store ...i said him you are so rude you can not say your customer you are not welcoming then i would like to ask question the guy , who first time accept my bike , he threat him not to reply me .then today i went there to pick my bike .the person brought my bike he said that i was banned in sports basement he would refund money my credit card and he would take back gift card , i said not i should pay because you gived service but he took back gift card and he refund money to my credit card. then i tried to explain situation which i lived to guy ( he was nice and polite person ) he didnt want listen me ..when i said that you were nice person i dealed 2 times with you , did you see any problem in my behaviour he said that no i didnt see but yuta said that i insulted him because of he is japanese ...i swear GOD , i m 45 years old and i didnt insult anyone until this time ..yuta was so aggressif and he lyied about me and then i asked you have camera in store if you showed that i insulted him or anyone i will work without fee in my future life ..so i m so regret to go sports basement..their manager is so unproffesional...
