AFFORDABLE/QUALITY Grilled Filipino Food in SGV/OC/LA. All the SoCal Filipino know what Tony’s Barbecue is because it has some of the best grilled street food around! @tonysbarbecuewestcovina If you live in West Covina, Corona, or Alhambra you probably already are familiar with this Filipino Restaurant but Orange County listen up because they recently opened a location in Fountain Valley! @dandy.eats and I had went here for a lunch date because we are both Filipino foodies who of course crave that authentic Filipino flavor. They offer some of the best grilled fish options like grilled salmon, grilled pompano, chilean seabags, swordfish, tuna collar, and shrimp on top of selling classic barbecue chicken pieces, pork, bbq, liempo, and more. Their prices are unbeatable because its quality cooked filipino food that for main plates served with rice are range from $11-$17 but you can also skewers or single items by the piece (most are half a dozen pieces to a full), by the POUND which means they base the price of the weight, or you can even do different family combo that can serve anywhere from 4 to 24 people (prices may vary). On top of that too they have half or full catering trays you can order ahead of time that are from $40-$175 if you need to order for a big group. This restaurant is very Asian BBQ themed. I ordered pork spareribs. The order came with rice, and an egg drop soup. I’ll break it down by dish. Pork Spareribs - Delicious and tender. Not much fat. Very delicious. Sweet glaze. Star of the show and worth the whole trip. 8/10 Rice - Nothing special. Flavorless. 3/10 Egg drop soup - Very dominant sesame oil flavor. Not edible for me but if you like sesame oil you’d love it. 1/10 BBQ Sauce - Very rich soy sauce flavor. Very sweet. 6.5/10 Menus and prices for 3/16/25.

I'm a bit surprised, the food here is actually good! I ordered the Meals #10 Liempo Meal. I thought at first the serving was miniscule but come to eating, the portion was just right. My order came with house soup, I don't know what it is but it was very good. There was also a small serving of papaya pickles and some java rice. The total was around $15, no drinks. Will I be back, yes but not often. I have to justify that cost in my head.

Gave this place a try since its super close to my home. I got the pork belly plate, the sea bass plate and two watermelon juices (about $40 which I thought was a little high but prices of everything are crazy rn) which is what the lady recommended. I asked her if the sea bass was really fishy since I typically only like really mild fish. She said it was a white fish and should be mild. Once I got the food in my car however I was met with an overwhelmingly strong smell of fish. When I got home and my husband and I opened the plates the entire apartment reeked of fish. I took a bite and was met with a slimy VERY fishy taste and texture but I tried to take a couple of bites. I made my husband try it since he loves fish. He said something was definitely wrong with it and we threw it away. We had to take out the trash and air out the entire apartment. The pork belly plate however was pretty good and the rice was well cooked. Unfortunately neither of us really wanted to eat after the smell, and taste of the fish. The watermelon juice was just ok, but I credit that to just not having a super sweet watermelon which is out of their control. Over all I personally won't try it again or take friends but I wouldn't...

We arrived at 8:15pm and they advertised as closed at 9pm. They did not allow for any takeout or food and they were just sitting on the counters and tables. Incorrect information and lack of customer service. Even if they could not serve us or ran out of food, we would have expected the 4 workers inside to at least acknowledge our presence and tell us to please come visit during other hours. That would have been sufficient instead of staring at us and laughing inside.

Would not recommend visiting or getting...
