I recently had an incredible experience with Saucy Chops, a fantastic food truck that has quickly become a favorite of mine! First and foremost, the owner, Brittany, is an absolute gem. Her enthusiasm and commitment to her craft are evident in every interaction, making you feel right at home as soon as you approach the truck.

As someone who values customer service, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve encountered. I was a first-time visitor to this food truck and asked the person at the window (who turned out to be the owner) whether the sandwiches were served hot or cold. Instead of answering, she snapped, “Did you read the menu?” and spoke over me, asking if the menu was on — something she easily could have checked herself rather than assuming.

I explained, as a courtesy, that it was my first time visiting and I was unfamiliar with the offerings. As a business owner, it should be common sense that providing clear, welcoming customer service is part of selling your product. Her eventual response — “It’s a fried chicken sandwich” — was not only unsolicited (I hadn’t even specified which sandwich I was asking about), but given that I am Black, it struck me as an uncomfortable and unnecessary assumption.

After this interaction, I no longer had an appetite, so I can’t speak to the quality of the food. However, offering a “free cookie for an Instagram follow” does not make up for poor customer service, and frankly, the cookie looked just as disappointing as the encounter. I will not...

One of the best chicken parms I've ever had! The elotès were also amazing! Loved the food! The 2 women working the truck were super friendly and efficient! There was a huge pool party event they were hired for at my apartments and they crushed it! Not only did they have to deal with an extreme amount of people, but it was very intense and quick, and some people from the community were really rude.
