Food was decent, staff not particularly welcoming or friendly, restaurant is very clean. Huevos rancheros plate swimming in cheese…if you love cheese I guess that’s a good thing. Traditional huevos rancheros wouldn’t be though. 😬 The huevos rancheros were also pretty expensive for just eggs and sauce over tortillas. Nine dollars. It did come with a little bit of rice and some beans served on styrofoam plate with plastic utensils. But to be completely honest beans tasted like beans from a can. Rice was cold. However, their homemade spicy salsa is very tasty! Loved it. Green tamale very good- and stuffed with pork! I would recommend tamales to go. Asked another customer how the churro was and they replied “it was okay”. This place is very popular for takeout. Might try a burrito in the future.

This was our first time at Tamale Kitchen. We thought it was like a restaurant but you order at the counter, which is fine. Food came out fairly quick on styrofoam plates. I ordered a Mexican hamburger and a tamale my friend ordered a chicken burrito. They looked the same, the Mexican hamburger looked like a burrito, no lettuce or tomatoes and cut up beef that had a weird taste rolled into a burrito. The green sauce was okay. The chicken in the chicken burrito was highly questionable if it was meat. The tamale was very dry. We picked out the meat and just ate the tortillas 😝 There’s a large trash bin by the door so you can clean up your table. This was the worse Mexican food we’ve ever had! Not a friendly place. I do not recommend.

I absolutely love their food. Their green chili has no pork in it (vegan)! As a vegetarian, this is rare to find. The breakfast burrito with egg, cheese, and potato is wonderful! I would suggest this place to vegetarians who cannot do the chili at Santiago's. Their churros and sopapillas are the best ones I've had in a while (since I was in a child). I am addicted to their horchata! My fiancè and I go there almost weekly! I just took my mother there and she enjoys it as well! She thinks the smothered chili relleno/tamale combo was amazing!

This place has decent non-authentic mexican fast food. However, the staff is as cantankerous, rude, and prone to mistakes as other commenters have noted. It starts with the owner who is just a jerk, always has a pissed off look on his face, and apparently hates customers. The other employees, while they may get a pass because of their young ages, are incompetent and refuse to acknowledge when they mess up your order. Unlike every other restaurant, these people do not read your order back to you when you phone in and 75% of the time my order is wrong. The other day they only gave me 3 of the 4 burritos I ordered and when I waited in the horrendously long line to explain, the young girl said, "so you want another burrito?" Finally, and this was the proverbial straw: I ordered at 6:45 pm last Sat. and they said it would be ready at 7. For some odd reason they close at dinner time on a Sat. and I showed up at 7:02 for the pickup. Instead of greeting me, the girl grunted, "We're closed." I could see that there were other orders needing to be picked up. No apology, no greeting, just a general attitude of "we hate business and don't care if you're satisfied." On the atmosphere: menu board is impossible to read while in line, there's no room for more than 3 people to be in line, there's no where to wait for your food, and the prices are incorrect and constantly changing + a surcharge if you use a...

I've been a customer of this Tamale Kitchen for almost 4 years, getting breakfast burritos at least weekly. I want in today, and the store is allowing patrons in that are not wearing masks or abiding by social distancing very well. I asked the manager about it and said that for my safety I would prefer if they didn't allow customers in that were not masked. He said that because the state and city don't require it, they are not requiring their patrons to wear masks.

This was a really disappointing stance for him to take. I have been to many local restaurants and stores that refuse service unless the patron wears a mask. These businesses have a large supply of masks that they offer to unmasked patrons, and I do not think they have lost significant business because of it. Because this Tamale Kitchen won't require customers to wear masks, I will no longer be buying anything from them. It's really disappointing as I have been a fan of theirs for a long time and made it a point to support them during this pandemic. If they change their policy I...
