Tin Man's Pub — Restaurant in Fox River Grove

How this place got any good reviews is beyond me. The place is FILTHY.. We found a damp rag on the counter and wiped along the front of the counter where we were sitting and the area where our food would be placed. The rag was black from the filth. There were flies everywhere, landing on our food once we got it.

We went there based on the menu on their website. False advertising to the max. My burger was okay, but the fries were cold. My husband had to eat his pizza (which was a cheap frozen one) on a napkin because she was too lazy to provide a plate. No extra napkins were available. When it came time for the check, she got a little attentive, but it was too late. She deserved maybe a 5% tip, but we are nice people and gave 15%, not our usual 20-25% tip.

Avoid this place. I would starve before going back. Filthy, poor service, below average food quality are the reasons to dine elsewhere.

And now the owner is calling me a liar. The filthy rag disappeared quickly when she saw it. The owner is saying what happened couldn’t be true, but we know what happened. It seems the owner can’t accept a true review. We are witnesses to the facts above. She was a sorry excuse for a server.

And, he has the audacity to tell us to return to have this discussed. I don’t think so. Even as bad as everything was, we over tipped because we are nice people. Why expose ourselves to more poor treatment? Also, keep in mind that they have a menu on their website that offers a whole lot more than was actually available. False advertising or bait and switch? Whichever it is, it’s not right.
