We travelled from North Carolina in order to celebrate Mother's Day with my mother in law. We had members from Kentucky and South Carolina drive in as well. It was the first Mother's Day my MIL had all five of her children together in more than a quarter century. We had a party of 16. We arrived, checked in, and was told it would about ten minutes. We were happy to wait, as there was an emtire row of tables perfect for our needs, all empty, except for one. This table was nearly finished eating, and we were told that this was where our party would be placed. We continued to wait patiently, and before too long, the lunch rush began. We proceeded to sit there and watch them sit another table in the tables we were waiting for. When we asked why they were giving up our tables, to which we were informed that we would have to wait for the wing on the other side of the restaurant to be cleared, all of which had just been seated also, so we would be waiting at least an hour on top of the 35 minutes we had already waited. When we asked to speak to the manager, the manager immediately copped an attitude, and said we needed to calm down. No one had been loud, rude, or abrasive, there was absolutely no need for the manager to treat a party of 16, who had been patiently waiting, while they seated at least two dozen people in front of us, with such rudeness, condescension, and complete apathy. They had no intention of waiting on us, and was more than happy to keep four generations of our family waiting, wasting what precious time we had together. I am convinced that they just did not wish to wait on a party of this size, and had we not left, we would be sitting there waiting still. Considering many of us have worked in the food service industry, from dishwashers and servers to management, we are more than understanding and patient, as well as generous, with wait staff. This restaurant lost several hundred dollars in sales, a dozen tips for their servers, and any return visits to this location in perpetuity. This is absolutely the worst service we have ever received, and Applebee's should use this location as an example of what NOT to do. If this is their service standard, their doors won't be open much longer.

Waited for my food for 15mins past my pick up time and went inside. Waited another 10mins. Plenty of people seeing me and never helping. Meanwhile my to go order was sitting on the bar. When someone finally acknowledged and waited on me.. I complained about the wait time and headed for the door. Then out of nowhere here comes Ben to tell me that they only had 2 people and were doing the best they can. So then I pointed out that I came in contact with more than 2 workers . He told me that it wasn't true. I think Ben may be a manager and I'm curious... Is it professional to argue with a customer to their back in front of other customers?? Or literally call them a liar. Let's be honest. There definitely was more than 2 workers. I paid for my food just like all the dine in customers.
