This by far was the worst experience EVER! I live within the Frankfort area and work from home so I decided to try out this place during my lunch hour. I went through the drive through and purchased a 10 inch beef with cheese, an order of fries and side fruit salad with regular size drink. First they over charged me all this came to 17.06 then when I questioned it the manager had an HORRIBLE attitude, I get home for my next meeting and no fries in the bag no fruit in the bag just a sandwich. Needless to say this was the MOST EXPENSIVE beef sandwich I have EVER paid for considering I didn't receive anything else. The people were so busy being rude and talking to one another in the drive through that there were not able to fulfill my order correctly. I would encourage you to go to Potbelly's for lunch or further down RTE 30 if you really need and want a beef sandwich with great...
Read moreThis is my first Buona Beef experience and I’m glad I took the risk! It’s my opinion that the Italian beef sandwiches here are superb. The meat is well seasoned and the au jus is just 🤌🏽. The fries were served to us well done and perfectly crispy without us even having to ask for it. Be sure to get your sandwich “baptized” for the full Italian beef effect. Baptized is basically the equivalent of dunked anywhere else.
If we’re using Portillo’s as the baseline for an acceptable Italian beef then this sandwich would rate quite a bit higher than Portillo’s in my personal opinion. Although there are some small non chain spots in Chicago that still have a better beef.
What got me going is that you can order one of illinois’ staple foods here. “Gravy bread” with is basically bread soaked in au jus. I’m going to order it some day. You can’t go wrong coming to Buona, you owe it...
Read moreExcellent customer service. Employees will come up to you mid-meal to check that everything is good, just as at a real restaurant and not your typical fast food place. The food was amazing. I had a Caeser salad with chicken and it was delicious. The perfect combination of cheese, dressing, croutons (which were out of this world good), and salad mix. I had a side of fries which were delicious. They were unseasoned, but the classic thick cut fries with a sprinkling of salt is an old school classic that they do very well. They were nice and fresh when I got them. They don't serve fries that have been sitting under the heater for a while, I can tell. Will definitely come here again. By the way, it also has a patio with a fairly nice view considering the cityscape environment. Prompt service and a great attitude from every staff member. Thanks, Buona, for a great...
