My first time ordering from Nigiri, via Uber Eats pick up - I chose it mostly based on location as I was driving home via Oakland (reviews were important too).
I ordered several rolls + a hot dish and it was definitely enough food for two. Rolls are creative and generously-sized. The rolls tasted fresh but there is a heavy hand with mayo-based sauces, and most rolls have some sort of mayo.
The yakitori was very greasy, not very flavorful, and the chicken had a bit of a tang to it that had us stopping eating it after a couple of bites.
I was disappointed that the cold, raw sushi rolls were packed in the same bag as the hot yakitori, miso soup, and hot edamame - this is the reason for only three stars. While I picked up my order within the window of when the app said it would be ready, I have no way of knowing how long the sushi was sitting on top of the hot food. If I had ordered delivery, I would be really concerned about eating sushi that was heated for as long as the order would take to arrive. For me, I immediately put the sushi in a cooler bag in my car that had cold groceries so the fish didn't...
Read moreCame her for lunch. Pros: Very clean. Large menu of rolls which are clearly labelled if they are fried/cooked/soypaper/rice-less etc. Very friendly service. Very attentive as well. Easy parking. They gave me miso soup on arrival and ice cream at the end Cons: No sashimi on menu. Only chance of getting just fish is in a chirashi or hwedubap. Food was a little underwhelming. Since there was no sashimi I ordered a kani salad and a rice-less roll wrapped in cucumber. Kani and avocado were good but the plate was piled high with generic iceberg lettuce. The cucumber wrapping was super thick. The filling was avocado, kani, and mashed up tuna. The roll wasn't staying together and I would have really preferred actual pieces of tuna. Both items we're about $9-$10. For $20 I can go to some of the nearby places and get 12-15 pieces of sashimi with soup or salad. Would I go back? Yes but only if I want a...
Read moreUnfortunately I will not be ordering from you anymore. I think it’s totally unacceptable that every time I call and order food from you guys, you raise the total price for delivery. I’ve been ordering from you guys since you opened. I ordered meals sometimes $100,$80,$70 and you never complain but when my order is at $33 or $34. You tell me that you have a $35 minimum to deliver it… that’s not right… It always goes up by $5 increments.. it use to be $30 before that to be $25… I always tip driver very well too. You can’t nickel and dime your customers about delivery on one dollar! Not right… and just so you know my last order that you would not deliver came out to $34.24 cents.. and you would not deliver...
