It's cheap food, what's there to expect. But still it costs money. We mostly ordered lunch there, and was like a Hit-and-Miss-Game. Sometimes it was fresh and ok to eat, sometimes it was too crispy overcooked and perhaps old.
Still we continued to order. You can't beat a $6 cheap lunch. One night we decided to order something different and spend almost $30 on it. When the food came our faces got longer and longer. We had ordered two different dishes, but they looked and tasted the same and the taste was awful. No seasoning, an overcooked hard to identified mess. The third dish had almost raw vegetables and wasn't tasty either. A total waste of money. I wouldn't give food like that to our dog.
I called and complained. The owner came to the phone and she started yelling and screaming at me. She told me ordering something else than the usual would be my fault. She got nasty and very loud and I hung up.
I called back in absolute disbelieve and by then I was so upset, that I told them to pick all the food up and give me the money back -what they did.
The poor delivery guy came and apologized, I suppose he has to do that quite frequently.
Imagine that. A food place where the owner yells at a customer when she delivers a bad quality. That's like Amy's Baking company...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: pretty upset. Call to order my favorite thing. And the only thing my partner will eat from there anymore. I wanted a honey walnut shrimp combo. They wanted a honey walnut chicken combo. A lomien, crab Rangoon, and chicken fried rice would have been added to the order but I was so frustrated I just canceled the entire thing. Because I was told they no longer make anything honey walnut. They used to make the pad Thai more brown. Now it's red. This used to be the #1 go-to for my chinese food. I've come there Since 2010, everything I loved has been changed or deleted in the last year or 2. When it did I'd pick something else. And they'd change it. Beef and broccoli was just beef and broccoli now it has tons of veggies (?) I don't know if the management has changed, if the chefs just dont know the recipes, or theyre just changing their menu/recipes but it's disappointing. I wondered why the review stars were dropping. Now I understand. Here's to finding another Chinese food place I liked as much. š
My #1 choice for when i feel great and want this type of food or when I'm under weather and need soup either way i consider this part of my soul food. However i need it they make it perfect, hot, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe picture on the left was the W. Broad St. location. Which is where I went for my very first visit. The picture on the right was the location on Hilliard Rome Rd. Many people told me to give Golden Chopsticks a second chance. You can see the differences. I walked into the W. Broad location and there was no greeting when I walked in the door or placed my order. It wasn't very busy so the standard customer service expectation was a little higher. A greeting is very minimal. I ordered chicken chop suey. I have never had any that looked like this. It also had hardly any seasoning. It was TERRIBLE. I told a friend about my experience and how I didn't like it. She told me about the location in Hilliard. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and a hello. I was handed the take out menu to look at. As you can see, the quality of food is very different. It had flavor. I'm surprised they are part of the same brand. I will NEVER go to the W. Broad location EVER again. Both the customer service and food was horrible. If you want to try Golden Chopsticks, avoid the W. Broad location. Go to Hilliard Rome. Guaranteed good service...
