Hands down the most exceptional follow up experience. My family and I had previously gone into Lomeli's and they simply had an off night. The owner contacted us and invited us back. Talk about above and beyond! Both owners came to speak with us and our welcome was accompanied with the best food we have ever had there. We felt welcomed by multiple staff members and catered to. Many local restaurants never provide this type of amazing service, I simply couldn't let this review not be updated. 5 stars. Thank you again!
By no means is this review aimed to be aggressive, angry or hurt the business... Simply aiming to give feedback.
My family has come into this restaurant many times, usually the food and service is amazing. This time around was different. I have eaten here three times, getting the same Hawaiian plate... My niece loves the pollo loco and my sister usually switches it up.
The four of us ordered our food and unfortunately only one guest was satisfied. Our server was a bit preoccupied but his friendliness was great. My usual plate, was covered in more queso than usual making it soggy and the salt level was off the charts - which was disappointing, however the pineapple and shrimp tasted great. My friend beside me ordered chicken and steak nachos, which had so much queso and stuff on it he ordered a side of chips and tried to create his own because the actual nachos was less than up to par. He later got sick after eating his plate and wasn't satisfied with the experience. My sister ordered serf n turf with a baked potato. The steak came out well done, when ordered medium rare. Sadly that was their last steak for the night so they suggested her get 12 additional shrimp to make up for the fault on the steak. She complied with the suggestion and they brought it out in a timely manner. Unfortunately after the meal we were faced with a not so pleasant bill as they wanted to charge her for both the steak she didn't eat, as well as the additional shrimp. When she brought this to the managers attention he said he knows about the situation and will give her 10% off the bill... Upon which the bill went down a single dollar amount. She stared at the screen and thought what is going on here? When she wasn't pleased with the new price the manager suggested that she simply skip tipping the server. Having been in this industry for years, we know the server shouldn't be faulted for the entire experience, after all how is he supposed to make a living if we slide his tip? She bit her tongue and paid the amount, with the tip. Sadly, prices are only increasing and a good experience is getting harder to find.
Maybe someday we will return to this restaurant and have a better experience. Until then, maybe your staff, especially management can do table touches when an order goes out wrong and the guests aren't satisfied with the quality.

Read moreSummary: Great street tacos and good red salsa. Detailed: My five stars is specifically for the street tacos. I almost never write reviews but I was very pleased to have soft shell tacos with a corn tortilla that was slightly fried giving them a satisfying slight crunch, without the tortilla breaking like when you bite a typical hard shell taco, nor did it rip like some soft shell ones. It came with cilantro inside as well as limes, grilled onions and jalapeño strips on the side. Great green salsa to go with them also. I had a lengua (tongue) taco, a carnitas, and an asada. I give the carnitas a 9/10, lengua an 8/10 (better than many lengua I have tried, tender meat rather than all hard and rubbery as at some places). The asada meat by itself was decent at 7, but the rest of the flavoring in the taco made that one great too. I was also very pleased to receive with the chips a red salsa that had a little spice. Most Mexican restaurants in Kentucky give salsa that tastes like tomato sauce, no spice at all. I can’t handle a lot of spice, but I want at least some. The chile relleno was okay; it came with Monterrey cheese. Nothing compared to some I’ve had in San Diego. Again, I mostly wanted to praise the tacos. My parents’ enchiladas and burritos were not much different from what you would find at other restaurants...
Read moreBeen going here almost weekly since they opened several years ago. It can be hit or miss most days. Portions can vary. Id recommend anything with steak or chicken in it. Stay away from the ground beef. Chips and salsa are amazing and keep me coming back. Rice, beans, tamales, chorizo, burritos are all really good. Prices are high. And they very often charge me the credit card fee even when I pay with cash. Service is usually awesome. We tried the quesabirria tacos last time we were in and they were pretty skimpy, despite it being a $14 dollar dish, so sort of a ripoff. We recently tried some traditional steak tacos and there was maybe 6 teeny tiny pieces of asada on each taco.. It keeps...
