Food taste and price is very good. But...table was cleaned off from previous customer and left wet. Server did not dry the table. We used the paper towels on the table to dry the table top and when finished the paper towels were very dirty. We ate with another couple and the server just put the whole check on the table for all 4 people without dividing it out for the two couples. The little high school server said it was the customer's responsibility to tell her we needed separate checks. Don't think we will be going back anytime too soon. However, on a positive note, the new face lift to the inside and outside is very very good.....gives a very homey atmosphere to the place. Its just not our type of eatery where we would expect good service. Teenagers who are trying their hand at being a server don't realize that the older generation has already raised their brood and have the discretionary dollars to spend to eat out regularly and we tip based on the quality of service we get. Food taste is really good and the place...
Read moreStopped here for a meal while coming back from Vanderbilt in Nashville. Saw the large amount of positive reviews and we decided to give it a try. First thing we noticed was the extremely friendly staff that greeted us as soon as we entered the door. Our waitress came and got our drink order very quickly and once she brought those back she explained their specials. They have several options to choose from which change daily as well as a menu of which you can order breakfast or lunch/dinner any time they are open (except for biscuits made fresh which they stop at 10). I had the "Big A" and my wife had the Texas Patty Melt. The burgers did take extra time to prepare as they told us because they are fresh and had made to order. The flavors were really good and you can tell the meat is fresh. My wife also ordered a thing of fried mushrooms which were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. You could tell fresh oil was used unlike some other restaurants. We would go back for sure on our way...
Read moreWas in town for a wedding and saw this place had some pretty good reviews and wanted to give it a try. Coffee was good, and they actually had cream for the coffee not just half and half. I ordered the country fried steak with scrambled eggs and home fries. The steak was good, and gravy wasn't bad. The gravy needed some black pepper added to it at the table but overall the steak and gravy was good. I was honestly so surprised that the scrambled eggs were actual eggs and not just the generic liquid eggs you usually see at restaurants. They were cooked well! As for the home fries... Of all the places I've eaten, I have never seen home fries cut like potato chips. They were thicker than chips but very similar. They needed salt and pepper or to be covered in gravy. They were super bland on their own. If I were in the area again, I wouldn't mind visiting this place.
