Last year we ordered three pies to pick up the day before Christmas and come to find out they never opened. We never got our pies so a lot of people got screwed so today I called to ask if we can order pies for Christmas and they said no we’re not doing it I said so I can’t order pies And she’s like yes you can order pies today and up until next week but the week of Christmas now makes no sense. Screw people the year before who were counting on your pies that are delicious but whatever. And now I get a reply from them saying that they never took pie orders. Well yes they most certainly did because I have a very good memory and many of my friends did the same thing placed orders for pies because I told them it was delicious, and they didn’t open to pick up the pies, so whoever replied to me, saying that they have never Did pie orders for Christmas and they’re snarky comment if I would like to come and work at 3 AM to make the pies we would gladly interview you that is just so rude so unprofessional and I will make sure that I tell everybody around and all my friends and family to stop visiting your establishment because of your attitude and your unprofessionalism You most certainly did take our pie orders and you didn’t open up. We went to pick them up and there was a sign on the door so don’t try to lie about it. We made a mistake and move on but to reply to a customer with that comment if I’d like to come and work at 3 AM they’d be glad to interview me that’s just pathetic and y’all do have the best pies in town so you turn something good with your pies into something negative and everybody that I asked on Facebook where can I get pies from? They said from you from you from you from you I told him apparently you don’t do that and they said what do you mean we’ve done it for years so someone there is either lying or hasn’t worked there long or something but keep responding to me nasty and I’ll change my review to be...

The food here is AMAZING and the prices are so ridiculously good. The atmosphere is so cozy and homey, it's just one of those places you can't help fall in love with. We go there every single year on our annual camping trip! However, on the morning of August 14, 2021, we had the worst server we've ever had anywhere. This is NOT a knock against the restaurant, because we had NEVER had bad service here, but this was just comically bad. The server was an older woman who just radiated "I don't want to be here." Dude, I can't blame you for that, we've all been there. But she literally CHUCKED sugar packets across the table at my mom when my mom asked for sweetener and then she reached over us so many times we started to laugh... My best friend literally had picked up her glass to take a drink and the server reached between her and her glass to pick something up. My dad asked for another glass of tea when his was empty and she huffed. Like dude, the restaurant isn't full. You have TWO tables. Even understaffed, that's manageable at 11:00 in the morning. We could not stop laughing at how bad the service was. BUT that was literally the ONLY time we've had bad service here. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Those biscuits are FLUFFY and the gravy is soooo good. Speaking of gravy, definitely get the chicken fried steak with the white gravy and the green beans. Oh man, and the PIE. Seriously, any slice of pie you get here is going to be amazing. 8/10, will still go every...

Tonight was my first night dining here, and the reviews seemed ok. The establishment is cute, and quaint, however the service is not. Initially, I ordered a kids hotdog for my child, with ketchup and onions and was immediately told I would have to pay full price because the kids is plain. Ok, fine we will take it plain. It's bit absurd to charge full price for onions, but whatever. Secondly the next part was how incredibly rude the younger gal checking us out. We dined with my mom, and the server automatically assumed we were one check, which wasn't true so I asked her to split it up. After, the check was more than if we had paid together. I said, how is the check more expansive and she said " I'm taxing two totals" I said sure but the sum is still the same at which she became snarky and says "I just put them in the calculator, I can't control what the calculator does" So, I think said to my mom well pay togther and before I could she says "I have 60 cents and if that's a problem I can find more change for you" and I said the money isn't the issue, it's that the check shouldn't be more when split.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this establishment, unless you're ok paying incorrect prices from rude, snarky...

The Sunset- a local legend-45 years!?-,cash only diner favorite for a nice meal. mask use optional amongst the mostly older clientele during our visit. wife chose the grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings both of which were typical and fine. the chicken appeared to be cooked to order, not reheated as in some spots. i went with the special of the night, grilled trout filet. perfectly cooked and tasted like it was right out of the river in the area. sides were unremarkable-green beans and slaw. Sunset is famous for it's homemade pies-coconut, lemon, butterscotch, plus some seasonal specials. i jumped at the chocolate pie seen in the case on the way in. unfortunately, the towering dune of what looked like whipped cream turned out to be meringue! who makes chocolate (cream) pie with meringue. and i am not a fan of it in any setting. the chocolate filling and the crust were nicely done but fell short of my expectations due to the choice of topping. all in all a better than average but somewhat disappointing meal.

Nice southern style hometown place to eat. I had the Thursday lunch special which was 8 bucks and change. It was great with meatloaf mashed potatoes and turnip greens as my sides. I had a little mashed potatoes and gravy with each bite of the meatloaf just the way I like it and boy was it good. The sweet tea was good and not overly sweetened. Desert was warm apple pie which was just a tart and vanilla ice cream. I really have nothing bad to say about this place. They don’t take credit cards but an ATM is onsite and personal checks with ID are excepted but that may be for locals only. Oh, and the service was awesome and so very friendly.

We've always loved this place and have been making a point to come eat here for years. I'm never disappointed! Very popular restaurant. Good old down-home cooking. My husband's all-time favorite meal to get here is the cheeseburger. Mine is the Tuesday or Thursday Thanksgiving plate special! Although one day we went on a Wednesday and the special was the country style steak and that was so tender and delicious! The pecan pie was probably the best I've ever had. Cash only, but there is an ATM on site. Very clean, nice people and children friendly.
