Bagels were pre-sliced and already starting to get stale by the time I purchased them. There's no chance I could manage to save them for tomorrow and because all of them are sliced you can't get a decent one to take home with you. It's not hard to slice a bagel when it's ordered and this to me says that being lazy is higher priority then serving a good product.
The employee behind the counter was nice but they were sneezing and not covering their nose well, germs flying everywhere then they wiped it on their shirt instead of washing their hands. This grossed me out quite a bit and doesn't seem sanitary.
The bagels themselves were a bit over cooked for my liking brown and dark spots all over. They also looked to be machine made rather than hand rolled and that came through in the taste for me too.
After I received my food, the non-bagel parts were fairly well made and the sausage on the sausage egg and cheese i had was good. The seasoning was a little unbalanced on it but overall decent. This saved the rating from being a 1 star.
Tldr, this place isn't better than Einstein bagels imo and that's my baseline for being a regular customer. Adding on to that issues with sanitation and pre-sliced bagels not keeping well I won't be...
Read moreOne morning, two of my friends and I decided to come to the main town of Franklin to get coffee and possibly a quick breakfast. We got coffee from a different location but Brooklyn Bagel caught my attention. Not being a local and being from the North East, we stopped here to see if the bagels were actually like bagels you’ll find in Brooklyn or in the NYC area. There wasn’t a huge variety of bagels like you’ll see in some stores in NY, but that might be due to the population here vs in the area of NY. There also wasn’t a huge variety of cream cheese like available at a lot of other bagel shops in the PA/NJ/NY area. It was a let down.
I ordered the lox bagel. The bagel was good but it definitely was did not taste like an authentic NY bagel does. It was lacking something.
I do understand that the owner is from NY and I can see what he’s going with by calling the business Brooklyn Bagel. Unfortunately, as someone who lives in the North East, I did have higher expectations and was expecting more.
I would recommend coming here to grab food but it’s not truly like a NY bagel experience...
Read moreCame over to Franklin for work on a Saturday and Brooklyn Bagels 🥯 had been recommended to me. Stopped in and was not disappointed. Owners were very nice and helpful when taking our order. Menu has great selection and variety. Storefront was easy to find and we got parking very close, also very clean inside. We got a bacon, sausage, egg and cheese on jalapeño cheddar breakfast bagel and a BLT lunch bagel as well as several bagels and cream cheese to-go, very delicious and the pricing was very reasonable since we literally got enough to eat for the rest of weekend and only spent $25 + tip. Very impressed and will return when we come back over the mountain. Great place to stop for breakfast or lunch, alone or with family. Franklin is lucky to have such a nice little bagel shop. No complaints! Very...
