When @rated_anh says "let's go to lunch" but then you remember you both ride motorcycles... You end up in North Carolina 😅 My friends Dan and Dawn had mentioned @motorcompanygrill some time back and I have been wanting to try them since. This was the perfect opportunity to say "I know a spot we need to try....." And knowing Charlie, he isn't gonna say no!! 🤣😅 This place's menu is AWESOME and we wish we could have tried more of their food, we'll just have to go back soon 👀 I ordered their APPALACHIAN BARNYARD burger which came with your typical fixins plus turkey, ham and a fried egg. Charlie ordered THE KING which had two HUGE patties along with swiss, cheddar, bacon, grilled onions and mushrooms... That burger was HUGE!! We were very happy with the burgers as they were tasty, moist and although they were gigantic, the bun held very well until the end. We started it off with some fried pickles and some jalapeño peppers. The fried pickles were too salty but the jalapeño peppers!? Let me tell ya... Good size, perfectly fried with just the right amount of pepper and cheese. Their waffle fries are single handedly the best waffle fries I've ever had... Perfectly fried and crisp with a great taste AND not greasy. We both had to do the classic thing and grab some dessert while there so he grabbed a vanilla ice cream cone and I grabbed a banana split sundae... Both hit the spot and were very tasty and creamy. I know this spot is far north but if you ever find yourself in the north side of GA near NC and you're wondering where you should go eat... Check this place out!!! They are about 40 mins from Clayton GA. Check out my YouTube channel if you're interested on the ride there.

Read moreOur first, and I'm sad to say, our only trip to the Motor Company Grill. This place had good reviews on Google and on TripAdvisor, so we figured it would be a good place to eat. We were promptly seated. It took a few minutes for a waiter to come by and get our drink orders and then we didn't see him again for 12 minutes. He repeatedly apologized for forgetting about us. We gave him our orders and our salads came within a reasonable amount of time. We hadn't even had time to put our salad dressings on our salads when the entree came. My first thought wasn't even about the timing it was about the size of the hamburger steak. I'm having a very difficult time recalling, but I don't believe I've ever had one that small before. The food was good but it was nothing to write home to Mom about about.
My wife has to eat gluten-free so she ordered a grilled chicken dish with mashed potatoes. Her dish was just average and wasn't very appealing to look at. The mashed potatoes came out with gravy on them, which a gluten-free person can't eat just regular gravy, so she had to scrape it off.
Our waiter came back by and again apologized. This time, for the timing of the salad and the entrees. I had to ask him to bring me a refill of water because I'd been out for some time. Not sure if our waiter was just having an off night or if this is usual for this restaurant. The waiter and the food certainly weren't deserving of four plus stars, which is what brought us to the Motor Company Grill in the first place. We hope others don't experience what we...
Read moreThis was one of the highest rated restaurants in Franklin and was on a 30 minute wait when we arrived on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We were quoted 30 minutes for a table of 4 @ 1:11. We were called to be seated at 1:54. It took a while for the server to stop by. We ordered two fountain cherry cokes, 2 waters and and chocolate milkshake with an appetizer of fried pickles. The cherry fountain drinks were good. The pickles tasted like the fryer oil was old. At this point the milkshake hadn’t yet arrived but they were making them constantly so we figured they might be behind. We ordered kids hot dog and fries, kids grilled cheese with waffle fries on plain white bread, Some Like it Hot Burger, and Philly Cheesesteak both with onion rings. It took about 40 minutes to get our food: 2:40, and was missing the waffle fries, and still didn’t have the milkshake. The A-1 sauce wasn’t A-1, the hotdog was dried out, the Philly didn’t have very much flavor, and the waffle fries had some weird granules on them and all the fried items tasted like old fryer oil. The onion rings were tasty, if spare. The Some Like it Hot burger was very good and my husband would be happy to return for it alone. The total bill was $67 before tip. Frankly, the quality of the food or service didn’t match the too-high prices. The ambiance of vintage diner was cool, they have a nice patio, and they had a bubble machine outside to entertain the kids while we waited, which was nice. Maybe it was just a one-off bad...
