I've only been here once. I usually won't leave a review unless I have been to a place more than a few times but I saw Alexandra Tanasescu's one star review and decided to even out the average a little.
She is correct they don't offer boats, boo hoo. What they do offer is really good sushi at a good price and amazing service. My wife and I dined here a couple of weeks ago and we were pleasantly surprised. The fish was fresh the portions were generous and the specialty rolls we ordered were creative and tasty. Our server was very personable.
We ordered sashimi, a regular roll and 2 specialty rolls and fried bananas for dessert. No it wasn't served on a highly decorative wooden vessel, it came on plates instead, shocker. I don't believe the flavor was compromised by the lack of nautical theme in my dining experience. We will definitely be back because it's close to home and it was definitely some of the better sushi in the area even without a high sailing adventure to go with it.
**Alexandra's review irked me because she rants about how they don't offer boats. She also complains on spending $120 on 11 rolls and believes that having a boat would have been a better value. If you're not familiar with boats they are what you order when you can't decide what you want. It usually consists of nigiri, sashimi, 1 regular roll and 1 "fancier" roll all of the chefs choosing (This is assuming a 2 person boat because that is my experience with them I'm sure bigger boats offer similar product in larger quantities). Some places have different variations but I have never found a place that will give the equivalent of 11 sushi rolls. So even if they did offer Alexandra here the plating of her choice she would have found something else to complain about because it would not have come with the equivalent of 11 rolls. To give a one star review to a new and local business because they don't serve food on a little wooden ship is ridiculous. Please grow...
Read moreI met a friend for dinner here. I'll start with we ordered 3 appetizers, 4 rolls and the price was 55ish dollars which is GREAT! NEXT the food. 1. Crab Rangoon was good, and a big portion I think there were 6 and the sweet chili sauce was good also. 2. Edamame was hot and salted well. 3. The chicken bao buns were good but definitely needed more sauce they were kinda dry. I would get a side of sauce next time. All of the rolls were fresh and tasted good. They have a very big menu with a lot of choices. I will definitely return! The food was delicious and the price was more than fair! I can say I was not a big fan of the area. The restaurant was clean, but the parking lot and the plaza next door looked trashy. And the motel on the other side of the restaurant was definitely low class. When we were leaving (it was after 8) there was some ruckus happening in the motel parking lot that carried over to the plaza through the restaurant parking lot. Otherwise this place is a BIG WIN!! Definitely...

We have ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, both the Ramen and Udon noodle soups, the takoyaki (SO GOOD), chicken gyoza, the yellowtail&onion sushi, spicy yellowtail sushi, the bluefin tuna roll, the surf clam nigiri, the Jedi specialty roll, and the Tattoo specialty roll. We also had a pot of the ginger honey tea, which was wonderful. I honestly can't pick a favorite because everything we have tried has been delicious. We leave so full and happy.
