This may be a local thing but I can’t believe these guys are still in business. The place is tiny and not in a charming way. It’s simply poorly designed. No front of the house, they use a chalk board to keep a waiting list. There is one bench to wait on for a max of three people. When the one door opens, it knocks you off your feet because no one expect there to be people there. The floor is slick so one person in my party almost fell on their face.
No credit cards is what, cute? Are they really too cheap for the 1.9% it costs them? Now to the food. Diner style food, didn’t expect anything upscale. However, the one drink that is attractive, apple cider with rum, they ran out at 11:30am! How is that not outrageous for anyone that takes the restaurant business seriously? Inventory, POS software and hardware are designed to make both the owners and customers happier. Apparently the owners here are marooned in the 1960s and loving it.
To be fair, the food was ok, nothing to write home about but probably what most expect from a diner. But I do object to dangerous facilities and customer service which is neither designed for return customers or to make the staff...
Read moreI came in to Sharky's around 10. It was just me, so I opted to sit at the bar. This was right next to the drink station, so the two waitresses and the busser were constantly in and out from that area. A few minutes passed before i could get a menu. The place was packed and you the staff was a bit confused on how to handle the situation. One waitress was even confused as to who had what table. A little confusion is no big deal. The menu was neat and they have a good selection. I ordered the special for the day; chorizo, onions, peppers, and cheddar scramble. The food came out in a few minutes, even with the large demand on the cooks. I can easily say, the food was delicious. The potatoes were cooked just right, the eggs blended beautifully with the other ingredients, and their jelly was amazing. Now, why did I give them a 1 for service? Throughout the entire sitting the staff was constantly bad mouthing the clientele. This was not in the kitchen, or out back, but right next to everyone. I know customers can be frustrating at times, but you don't let your stream out within earshot of the very people supporting your business. The staff is going to bring this place...
Read moreEggnog. Go for it while it's in season. No complaints. Ironically postured beach shack themed breakfast joint where people are walking in from snowstorm weather, up in one of the coldest cities in the continental United States, for the resilient comforts of a small town diner inside the belly of a whale of mountain townees and tourists alike.
Extra large people be forewarned, tight quarters! So best be nimble best be quick to avoid the admonishment of restless dads on a schedule, and keep safe the children at risk of being unintentionally knocked over with a sudden sway too or fro to avoid say... the drift when someone holds the vestibule door and front door open at the same time, most inconsiderately (to the few who understand that cause and effect pattern and care to avoid collateral cooling).
But the Manhattan restaurant haste brought on by the humble quarters for those there to chill before and after the thrills of the high mountain life gets the faa hoo fores da hoo doress of all in on all the fun havers inside...
