Sweethaus Treats — Restaurant in Frederick

We were very excited to try this new bubble waffle location. So excited we even brought along friends. It took an hour to get our order. Everyone ate individually, because the orders came out one by one. There were several families waiting around to get their ice cream orders and food. It does not appear that they are equipped to provide more than one food service. In addition, they began setting up for a personal party which further delayed the orders. A sign was place outside 30 minutes before they planned on “closing” and shortly after, they locked the doors with 7+ families still indoors waiting for their orders. As a new business, I would imagine that the priority would be providing good service to their paying customers. Reserved signs were placed on the already limited tables for them to set up their chaffing dishes. It was very unprofessional. Most disappointingly the bubble waffle wasn’t worth the hour wait. The one scoop of ice cream was tasty but otherwise, not worth it. The waffle was under done and tasted like egg and the milkshake was thin and just tasted like milk. For the price it should have been a thicker consistency and more tasteful, instead of being just pretty to look at. Also, if customers are expected to wait for long periods of time, the least they could do is ensure that their WI-FI works. We decided to get dessert after dinner at Ricci. We were enamored by the absolutely adorable decor and fun take on the cashier pick up station. The ice cream tasted that of Breyers ice cream, very generic with the usual store bought taste we all know. The real winner here is the accessories that come on top of the bubble cones. The staff did a great job of ensuring the entire cup was well coated by Nutella and was presented as advertised! You will find the four stars for service to be my only real complaint. Luckily we decided to get a late dessert (830pm) so it was slower than normal, I’m sure. We had received the wrong order originally, which was quickly remedied once we told the cashier, which was appreciated. I watched as new patrons arrived and waited in line to use the one touch screen device to place your order, some waiting just a few minutes to get their turn. The real wait began once the order was placed. It took 20 minutes to receive our correct order, understandable since we had to wait for an item to be remade correctly. Then I noticed there was just a single bubble waffle maker machine and one employee on shift; this made me curious how they would fare in a prime time, weekend situation.

So we actually found this place on Instagram as it's pretty new. It has a really cool vibe of an ice cream truck front counter and nice Decor all around with Crystal on the ceiling and an Interactive ordering machine that you can use or you can go to the front counter to make your order. We live kind of far and we manage to make it here about 20 minutes before closing a week or so ago. My girlfriend and I along with a friend wanted to see if these were really good. We thought they looked similar to the yard milkshake bar but that's much further from us so we decided to give this place a shot. The service was friendly and timely. The shakes themselves were pretty tasty I'll be a little soupy could have been thicker. My milkshake had a cupcake on it and my girlfriend's had an Ice Cream sandwich on hers. Others around us also seem to be enjoying their choices as well and it seemed like a really chill vibe overall. I definitely be interested in returning to try other options to make a more informed decision on how much I like the place but first impressions are positive and welcoming.
