When I first moved to FXBG I loved Fu Kien. Their food is delicious and tastes very fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, their service has gone downhill over the past year to the point I felt I needed to share my experience. At least 5 times I have placed an order online ahead of time and have waited the 25 minutes I was told to. After waiting, I would go to pick up my food and find that it had not even been started which would require me to wait an extra 20 minutes after I arrived. They have messed up my order at least two times. Tonight I placed an order for pick up over the phone 30 minutes ahead of time hoping that would be enough time and I wouldn't have to wait. When I arrived at the restaurant my order was not ready. I found out they had given my order to another customer who had come in before me. This customer did not have the same order of food so it was not just an easy mix up. The owner was kind and gave me a refund for my food when I asked and I took my business elsewhere. Sadly, I will no longer be ordering from them as it seems to be more trouble than it is worth. Their food is still really good and the owner is very kind, but my time has been wasted too many times. Hopefully they can turn things around and get it running quicker for...
Read moreHaven't been here in many years and decided to give it another chance.
The adage, never trust an empty restaurant during mealtime, came to mind as I was the sole dine in customer.
The service was okay. A lunch buffet is no longer offered, I assume it was a victim of the pandemic although the tables are still on place. This aging location had several light bulbs out and/off.
No lunch specials are offered, so I ordered combination egg foo young off the menu. Wait time wasn't too horrible. The dish arrived and was okay. Sauce was practically flavorless. Soy sauce bottle on the table was horribly dirty.
Not sure what keeps this place afloat although they seem to have a small but loyal take out contingency.
Edit: Response to management's comment. I asked if there was a lunch menu and was told there wasn't one, nor was one listed in the menu that I was handed. The one time I was asked about my food, my mouth was full. And with limited time to have lunch, I wasn't about to to ask for a new order. Why would I expect it to be any different from...
Read moreI was excited to try this place. I give this 3 stars because I feel bad giving any less. When I get back home I found that there are no fried noodles for my 2 soups and no sweet and sour sauce for my crab rangoon. Not a huge deal but that’s all I ordered and every single Chinese restaurant automatically gives those things. When I drove back to the store and told the lady at the counter she said “oh”, and then told me that the sweet and sour sauce is extra. That’s fine except that’s the main dipper that everyone gives and I didn’t need the half tub of sweet and sour they made me buy, which I shouldn’t have had to pay for since I had to drive back and let my food get cold. I never got an apology either. It seemed like they didn’t really care about their service. And to make things worse I just found out the crab Rangoon are soggy, so I should really be giving less...
