The dog park in general is decent. They have been rotating the yards so that one side can replenish after use while the other is in use. It is not separated by size of dog. As others have noted, the park can get muddy after rain/precipitation so just don't wear anything nice to the park. My primary issue is with irresponsible owners. Just today, my dog was bitten by another dog with no warning. My dog yelped and was forcibly rolled onto his back. The owner was present but they didn't see any problem with their dog's behavior. Instead of apologizing for the attack and asking if my dog was okay, the owner was speaking to someone else explaining and justifying her dog's behavior as typical herding dog behavior and claiming the dog didn't actually bite. Based on the saliva on my dog's back, their dog definitely did bite. Unfortunately, this is not a unique situation and there are many unapologetic dog owners seeing no problem with their dog's behavior. In my opinion, if your dog is going to attack other dogs and you will do nothing to correct it, don't bring your dog to the dog park. If your dog is willing to bite another dog with no warning and you are not going to stop or deter that behavior, then they are fully capable of injuring and even killing...
Read moreThis place is not great. there are two sides but only 1 side is ever open at any given time. It's close to my house about seven minutes the next closest is about 30 minutes from me. Every time I go there someone has a problem with my dog because he's a giant breed and they bring their tiny little dogs into the park and expect them to not be afraid of him. Despite the fact he was raised around small cats and dog and is very gentle. They need to open both sides so the people with little dogs and go to their own side. I had a lady today get upset that my dog ways "interupting" her dog playing with another small dog in the park and asked me to get him to only play with the other dog. After her shrill and annoying whining about my dog and her dog playing TOGETHER she then grabbed my dog and said she would hold onto him so I could leave. This wouldn't be an issue of they opened both sides, tired of small dog owners acting like large dogs don't have the same right to play.
I'll be driving the 30 minutes to the community run dog park instead where people have more than 3 brain cells...
Read moreI am giving this park a 4 because previously, we’ve NEVER HAD A PROBLEM; however, it should be the responsibility of MATURE OWNERS OF DOGS, to be honest about their pet’s temperament. My dog was bit by an aggressive dog named BRUNO, his ear needs to be attended by a veterinarian , and the bleeding needs to stop. BRUNO ATTACKED MY DOG TWICE BEFORE BRUNO’S owner took him out of the park. My dog did nothing to instigate or initiate the attack. This happened with my dog right beside me and I had to go over the bench fast, in order not to get bit by this aggressive dog!! DOG OWNERS, BE MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE. If you know your dog is aggressive, don’t bring him to the dog park. THERE SHOULD BE CONSEQUENCES AND OR MONITORING!! Also, people will have to now watch where they step. Bruno dumped a load in the middle of the park and despite plenty of bags handy, his owners didn’t bother...
