This will be a very long, but honest review. We moved here from NY a few months ago and came to Federicis twice before. After really enjoying the food, we asked a few friends to join us this past Saturday and we made a reservation for 8 people. When 2 of our other friends asked to join us with their 3 kids we called to change the reservation to 13 people. My husband called 40 min prior to our reservation and was told it wouldn't be a problem and there wouldn't be a wait time due to our change. Our reservation was for 6pm. We arrived at 5:50. We waited until 6:15 and at this point it was very busy and our kids started getting a little impatient and were starving. I approached the older blonde lady in the back that seemed to be the host that evening, and kindly asked her how much longer until we got seated? And she rudely responded "not much longer, and I'm going to need your entire party to step outside while you wait! I understood, being the kids were getting loud and couldn't stand still any longer, but can you blame them?? We went outside and waited in the cold until 6:35. I approached her again and asked to please give me a realistict time when we would be seated as we couldn't wait much longer due to us having 6 kids with us. The older lady then shouts at me "You moved your reservation from 8 to 13 so it takes time to get a few tables together". Then she continues.. "It's a Saturday so there will be a wait for 13 people, what can I tell you!" I then mentioned to her, my husband specifically asked when he called if there be an would issue with changing the reservation and he was told "not at all" . Her response was, " Well you are free to go somewhere else if you can't wait." I can't even describe how embarrassing that was. It was our friends first and definitely last time coming to Federicis. I have never been spoken to in that tone by anyone. We go dining weekly with our kids and never had such a horrible experience before in NJ! Yes, it was a busy evening, and we did wait 45min to be seated WITH a reservation but the host didn't have to be so rude and needs a 101 on proper etiquette. There's a way of handling any situation and if she knew there would be a 45min wait with 6 kids she could of politely mentioned that to us when we arrived and we would of went somewhere without any hesitation. Shouting at me and being disrespectful is unacceptable. We ended up staying due to us having a large group, and were seated around 6:45. Our server was great and the food was fantastic! The restaurant needs to work on hiring someone who greets their customers with a smile when they arrive especially during the holiday season. She looked miserable, and my daughter asked me "why is that mean lady shouting at you mommy"?It's a family restaurant and it was a proper time to come with kids!...
Read moreI am visiting from Texas as my home was severely damaged by the February freeze and is being rebuilt. A dear 30 year friend and I attempted to dine at Frederici’s last Thursday evening but I was refused accommodation because I was accompanied by a 10 lb Yorkshire Terrier. I offered to show the owner, or one of the owners, I believe (Mike), my dog’s legal service dog registration documents but he wasn’t interested. He was dead set against the dog being there from the second that I walked in. We were seated in the back room, a long distance from other guests. My dog would absolutely not have negatively impacted any other diner’s experience. My friend was meeting her children and grandchildren for dinner as she has seen them only sparingly over the last 14 months due to covid restrictions. I left without argument as I didn’t want to make my friend or her family uncomfortable. My leaving without argument wasn’t enough for Mike as he stopped at the table to harass my friend, in front of her family shortly after I left, insisting that he was “right”. She suggested that she had already heard his position, thought his action to be unlawful and didn’t wish to discuss it further since I had complied. He replied that he had already kicked 2 people out and asked if she’d like to be the 3rd?? What an arrogant, rude, ill-informed boor! He broke the law plain and simple! He doesn’t see it that way as his behavior suggests that he and his establishment are above the law.
I double checked the law as I wandered Freehold for 2 hours while my friends dined and it is unambiguous. Mike wanted a fight from the get go and now he has one. I respect the right for an owner to run an establishment as they see fit but we all have to follow the law, whether we like it or not. I’ve never written a negative review in my life but will not tolerate people who behave as though they are above the law. I’ll not stop until they are educated and compelled to follow the law. Patronize this establishment at your own risk. You can find good pizza all over NJ, offered by people who treat their customers with respect and appreciation and...

Federici's Pizza is renowned for its thin-crust pizza, and it truly lives up to the hype. The crust is perfectly crisp, providing a satisfying crunch with each bite, yet it manages to retain a slight chewiness that balances the texture wonderfully. The sauce is rich and tangy, made with fresh tomatoes that deliver a vibrant flavor. The cheese is generously applied, melting into a gooey, delightful layer that complements the sauce perfectly. Toppings are fresh and ample i did mine as custom topping pizza of veggies. Each bite is a harmonious blend of flavors that showcases why Federici's has maintained its stellar reputation over the years.
Stuffed Mushrooms The stuffed mushrooms at Federici's are a must-try appetizer. They are generously sized and packed with a savory mixture that includes breadcrumbs, garlic, herbs, and cheese. The mushrooms are baked to perfection, ensuring they are tender but still hold their shape. The filling is rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of garlic and herbs that doesn’t overpower the natural earthiness of the mushrooms. Each bite is a delightful combination of textures and flavors, making it a great start to any meal.
