I originally reviewed this restaurant in Spring 2022. Since then I'm not sure what has happened, but today was the last time I will be going there.
The last two times I have been there the steam table that contains the Chinese food, seems to always have items that are hot, and I mean really hot temperature. The other two tables, in my experience the food is barely warm. The last time I was there I witnessed a man putting hot fresh items on top of the old items on the buffet, which is anyone knows is not how you're supposed to do it. The items then that remain on the bottom wind up tasting hard and old understandably. Today when I was there, debating leaving before I even ate anything, I saw one of the kitchen guys standing at the buffet adding water to the mashed potatoes to moisten them, instead of putting fresh ones out. It's laughable too because the mashed potatoes are thin and incredibly watery anyway. Now I guess I know why. Don't get me wrong I understand it's an Asian buffet and they're not going to be known perhaps for outstanding American items, but if it's offered to people, it should be kept at proper temperatures and proper quality.
When I left today, I talked with the person at the cash register and told him about my last two experiences and why I would not be back. All he said was that he apologized and then he just...
Read moreI can't stand buffet food. You can either have quality food or a large quantity of food. This is for those "fuxk the world, I'm eating" times.
This visit, the food was mostly hot and reasonably fresh. At first most of it tasted good. Then I saw the rice steamer pictured. How racist do people need to be to keep the white rice separate from the (absent) brown rice?
Why couldn't this have been a Mexican buffet? They do have flan but it's "egg custard" and surprisingly the label was over the right pan of custard.
The stuffed shrimp were labeled "corn." The "potato fries" were breaded shrimp.
For the record: they do not use any raw or uncooked seafood in their sushi. It's imitation crab and shrimp. Both are cooked. I would avoid the sushi for a lack of variety. I prefer...
Read moreThis place is so hit and miss, sometimes great and other times not. Our visit today was a miss. Most of the items in buffet tasted old (honey chicken, egg rolls, avocado sushi rolls, wontons, spring rolls, donuts, and grilled chicken). Many of the other slots were about empty or empty even though around 2pm when we were there and roughly 20diners were on site and to-go business was still brisk. I was also surprised that items were lukewarm at best from the buffet. Even when you immediately returned to your table to eat them, they were lukewarm or cool which is an indicator of low buffet temps. When they first opened, we weren't here weekly (at least) since service and food was stellar. Now, we go maybe monthly and not sure we will go again to be honest it's gone...
