We have been ordering and eating at Peking restaurant since we moved to Fremont in 2006 and there have been many changes since then.
The most recent of changes that we have noticed are different ingredients as well as the quality, smaller portions ie egg rolls being 3/4 of the size that they have been, and increased wait times.
We also notice that when calling the restaurant to place the order it takes much longer to get through, as well as once you get through, the person on the receiving end is very hasty and in a hurry. We feel this could be a factor which has led to some of our orders most recently being incomplete or incorrect.
The food is always hot and made fresh to order, however when ordering be very clear if/when you specify or request any substitutions, as the errors seem to be most prevalent when the order is not repeated back.
The only personal preference that I have about my order and something that I would like to see changed, is when I order the sweet and sour chicken instead of getting smaller individual bites that are battered dipped and fried then tossed in the sweet and sour sauce; there are always two to three chunks put together and for me that is not something that I enjoy, and I do not think it lends itself very well to the dish.
Overall the experience is common for this area for customer service and wait times, the prices seem to be in line with restaurants in Fremont.
An additional reminder, again if you have substitutions or things that you want that are different from their standard meal, be sure that they repeat that back to you so that you are not disappointed when you...
Read moreWorst experience here ever. I've been coming here for over 20 years and this time the meat in the wontons tasted spoiled. Told the waitress and the owner. The owner just kept telling it's good, it's good, we sell so many! She interrupted me several times as I calmly tried to explain to her that the meat tasted spoiled. 3 out of 4 of us spit out the wontons because the meat tasted spoiled. That is not a coincidence! We didn't want a refund we wanted it made right and we couldn't even come to an agreement on that. Then I get to my entree which was the szechuan beef which I've had numerous times and never had a problem. After a couple bites again I was force to spit it out because it too tasted spoiled, the meat was pale gray in color. It looked as bad as it tasted. The owner reacted the same way I mentioned above. At this point I didn't want to pay for the meal I hadn't eaten. She again refused to do anything, the argument continued and when I realized I was fighting a battle I couldn't win I gave in and told her you just lost a longtime customer. As I was walking out I noticed the waitress was tasting my dish and spitting it out. I turned and asked her how it was and she said it tasted really bad. Sadly the owner won't even listen to the staff. A call to the health department might...
Read moreI grew up eating food from this restaurant and always loved it. However, over the course of two years I have on two different occasions found a bug in my food. This last time, (a roach looking bug 10-13-18) was enough to prompt me to contact the Mayor of Fremont, The Sandusky County Health Department, I-Team Investigates, The B.B.B., and reach out via social media. I wanted people to be aware of what may be going on in this restaurant. The Health Department has since reached back to me and notified me they sent two “Sanitary Technicians” to the restaurant to investigate the matter. Although, they did not state whether or not they had any findings. (The roach in my food was finding enough for me). If you choose to eat here, I recommend digging through your food first, as I almost entirely ate my meal before discovering the roach. Disgusted as I sit here thinking...
