My granddaughter and I both ordered the chicken burrito El grande. They brought us a small bowl of cold chips. We didn't like their salsa, so we asked if they had some queso which she brought. The queso was bland white cheese. It didn't have flavor at all. We were starving so we ate it anyway. When she brought the burritos the presentation was nice with fresh vegetables, guacamole and sour cream. It looked great. Biting into the burrito... it tasted like canned chicken with some beans, honestly I did not taste or smell any spices whatsoever. I ate the vegetables and maybe two bites of the burrito. I'm pretty much of a tightwad so I usually take all of my leftovers home. I didn't even want to take anything home because I knew I never wanted to eat it again. Also I was quite shocked when I got the bill that a small bowl of queso cost $9.50. She told me it was specially made there, but again, it was white bland cheese with no spices, so I can't understand what the recipe would be. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The...
Read moreStopped here after work, starved and craving some good Mexican food. From the outside it looks like an average Fremont storefront. Inside it is anything but. Walking in I was greeted almost immediately and told to sit anywhere I liked. A menu, chips and salsa showed up shortly after I sat down. The salsa was loaded with fresh cilantro and onion. Not the seasoned tomato sauce you get at some places. I ordered the Bonitas, which is pretty much a loaded nachos and when I say loaded...it was loaded. As hungry as I was I ate half and tapped out. The waitress was super sweet and checked on me multiple times to make sure I was ok. My drink never got much below the halfway point before she refilled it. Food taste was good, lettuce was really fresh and crisp. I was by myself so I watched how other customers were treated and it was the same all around. I highly recommend giving them a try, I know...
Read moreThis place was alright. Food was OK, prices are on the high side. I ordered a plate of nachos, and while the meat, cheese, and other toppings on them were tasty, somehow all the chips were soggy and so I pretty much had a basically Nacho casserole. It did taste good though. They do serve desserts but they are not on the menu, and I may be reading too far into it, but it seems to me this may be on purpose. Because they charge $7 for a small, albeit decent, piece of pie. If they put that on the menu you probably wouldn't order it. It seems to me this may be an attempt to be misleading. I am reading others' reviews stating that they charged them for the bowl of chips they serve with the meal, the chips they give you, without asking, when you sit down. They did not do this to me, however between mine and others' experiences it seems they may possibly be trying to mislead. But again, I may be reading too...
