We popped by after the 2023 Annular eclipse. Around 9am there was a 20 minute wait.
They had free coffee for patrons waiting. They're very aggressive with their coffee😂😂
We got sat and were handed menus and I just distinctly remember them constantly asking us if we want coffee and refills and refilling automatically - which in theory is great but idk it was also a bit too much.
We were approached by a server who got drinks (speciality coffee or juices). One friend got that specialty coffee you see pictured
When that dropped food was ordered & I had asked for water for as we only had the house coffee and specialty coffee
Our food dropped about 15-20 minutes later, without water. We had to ask three waiters to get our water
The original server The server who instructed us he was going on break The new server he introduced us to who was taking over
Then the original server returned as the food took 20 minutes and we took About 20 minutes to eat
It’s clearly a busy and cool Fremont spot.
A bit loud and cramped - and probably a wait time at all times.
As a new resident in Newark )05/2021) idk what the hype was but they appear first in breakfast Fremont searches but nothing really stuck out to me other than they had free black coffee outside for the guests waiting.
Still a decent meal if you can wait, or just love endless endless endless black coffee
I have been to country way twice, and it’s an older staff and very vintage atmosphere that I think I’d return to again before coming back to bills cafe. I think it’s country ways’ staffs’ ability to make you feel welcome that makes the difference.
I definitely felt like we were at a popular brunch spot at bills and all the staff cared about was turning and burning their table, but I’m sure it was just them trying to help everyone waiting in line...
Read moreArrived at Bill's Cafe and were informed of a 30-minute wait for a table, so we opted for seats at the bar. Upon sitting down, the bartender promptly took our drink orders and placed them in front of us. However, from that point on, we were completely neglected. Despite the bartender seeming busy, we patiently waited, assuming he would attend to us once he finished tidying up. To our dismay, even after what seemed like a manager (dressed in all black with an arm tattoo) refilled everyone's coffees, ours were inexplicably skipped over. We had to flag down the bartender to request coffee refills. After an additional 10 minutes of waiting, we attempted to get the attention of both the bartender and the manager to place our order and they looked at us and gave a thumbs up and turned back around, but to no avail. Despite our efforts, they appeared to deliberately ignore us, even when we clearly expressed our readiness to order. Feeling disregarded and perplexed by the treatment, we decided to leave. Our experience left us questioning why we were treated in such a manner when we were nothing but polite. Sadly, we won't be returning to...
Read moreBusy Sunday and it was raining like crazy. Read reviews that they have coffee available while you wait awesome! We arrived at 1pm and put our name down for 3 and were quoted a 35 min wait. No biggie. No seats avail inside so we sat outside under the eves. Went to get some of the aforementioned coffee while I waited but the urn was empty. I went inside to ask the hostess to have someone refill the urn and was told after 12 they don't fill it. What?? You are open 3 more hours past your coffee cut off time. Dissapointing, and even more dissapointing is paying for the TERRIBLE coffee once seated. The waitress was fast but the wait time for the food was long. Bloody Maria lacked flavor but the heat was pleasing. My Mexicali benedict was soo good, their carnitas have great flavour. My bf however crunched into eggshells several times while eating his over-medium eggs. THE PANCAKES! MASSIVE! One could feed 2 easily. Overall we came out feeling MEH. Traffic to get to Fremont plus the above other deciding factors left us knowing we will stick to our usual...
