Disappointed Every Single Time – Overhyped and Overpriced
I really wanted to like Pints and Joy as they just opened up a new location in my neighborhood in Fremont—I gave it four chances, hoping a different flavor might finally live up to the hype. Unfortunately, each visit left me more disappointed than the last.
The ice cream is way too sugary, and the prices are ridiculously high compared to just about any other ice cream shop. I tried Guava, Kulfi, Coconut, and the Dubai Chocolate Sundae. The worst by far was the Dubai Chocolate Sundae—$15 for a tiny cup buried in whipped cream, masking what tasted like cheap chocolate ice cream.
The Kulfi flavor was just vanilla—no trace of the authentic kulfi taste. The Coconut had no coconut aroma or flavor. Just bland, sweet cream. It feels like the focus is on trendy presentation, not taste or value. The only one I liked was guava which actually tasted like real guava in ice cream form.
I get that Indian flavors appeal to many, and I love the concept. But when the flavors are this off and the prices this inflated, it’s just not worth it. Please fix the pricing and actually deliver on the flavors...

I'd recommend their flights if you want to sample a few different options. You get four "kid-sized" scoops, which is a fantastic way to try several without committing to a full scoop. If you're looking for a bit more ice cream while still getting variety, their split scoop is a good choice.
Gulab Jamun (4.5/5): The flavor was authentic, though it was, as expected, extremely sweet.
Mango (4.5/5): Rich mango flavor.
Meetha Paan (4.5/5): Pleasant gulkand flavor.
Gulkand Coconut (4/5): Similar to the Meetha Paan, but with an added sweetness and a distinct coconut flavor. This could be a good option if you enjoy both coconut and paan.
Dark Chocolate & Orange (3.5/5): Strongly reminiscent of Terry's Milk Chocolate Orange. It tastes almost exactly the same, bringing back a wave of nostalgia.
Fig and Walnut (3/5): The texture was unfortunately...

The shop itself is a fresh take on the tired old pink/creak decor of other big ice cream cream brand stores. The ambience is vibrant, with simple yet elegant icee cream bar, uncluttered by random paraphernalia.
The seating (inside and outside) is designed for a nice little group to enjoy a cup of ice cream over a nice conversation. The decor is nice and vibrant.
The cream itself is nice! Some of the flavors from India are an awesome touch. We tried the mango flavor, the gulab jamun flavor, both awesome. Then there is this more adventurous chili-guava. Well that’s like how you’d expect.
Get a nice cup of what you know is going to be awesome. Enjoy it with a side of people watching.
You may even grab a tub on...
