What a cute little spot! The chandeliers were so pretty, and the whole place had such a cozy vibe. Loved the ambiance!
We ordered quite a few things, so here’s the lowdown:
Paneer roll – This came stuffed with loads of paneer wrapped in a soft rumali roti. I miss good rumali roti, so this was a treat! As a vegetarian, I stuck to paneer, but the chicken and shawarma options looked amazing if that’s your thing. They also served a decent portion of fries on the side—crispy on the outside, soft inside, with a touch of masala(spices). Just perfect! The roll itself tasted good—not amazing. My partner liked it, though! My major gripe was the red food color—didn’t love how it looked. That aside, it wasn’t oily(love that), super filling, and came with a ranch-style dip that paired perfectly with both the roll and the fries. Totally worth it!
Bun maska – OMG, this was the star for me! Soft, buttery bread served warm with just the right amount of sweetness. It was mild and so satisfying—I’d happily come back just for this! Whether you dip it in chai or eat it on its own, it’s such a treat.
Bun malai – This one wasn’t warm, and the malai was a thinner consistency, as they kindly explained beforehand. It’s a little sweeter too. It was decent, but for me, the bun maska was unbeatable. Still, worth trying if you like sweeter treats.
Chai – We tried both the Zafrani chai and Irani chai. Hands down, Zafrani chai was the winner! It had the perfect sweetness, and we both absolutely loved it. If you’re a tea lover, skip the free chai at Apni Mandi and try this instead—it’s so worth it. The Irani chai was less sweet but still great. My top pick? Zafrani chai all the way. 10/10.
The place was packed with people, but the staff did a fantastic job keeping up with the crowd.
Parking can be tricky even though there are plenty of spots, especially since it’s near Starbucks and Apni Mandi.
Highly recommended! It’s a great spot for a quick stop, and the food, service and vibe make it worth a visit. Definitely...
Read moreI recently visited Deccan Morsels and had the opportunity to try a variety of dishes, including Irani tea, Chicken 65, Shawarma, Bun Maska, Bun Malai, Rumali Roti, and Zafrani tea. Overall, I must say that I quite enjoyed the food, and the Irani tea was a real standout.
The Irani tea had a delightful aroma and tasted absolutely wonderful, setting a high standard for my visit. The Chicken 65 was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice. The Shawarma was also quite delicious, and the Bun Maska and Bun Malai made for a satisfying snack. Notably, all the dishes appeared to be freshly made, which added to their appeal. The Rumali Roti was especially impressive—hot and fresh, it complemented the other dishes perfectly. The Zafrani tea was a delightful addition to the menu as well.
One thing that stood out during my visit was the polite and accommodating staff. Despite a longer-than-expected wait time for our order, the owner and staff were gracious and apologetic. They acknowledged the delay and handled the situation with professionalism and courtesy.
However, while the food and service left a positive impression, there are a few areas where Deccan Morsels could improve. The wait time for our order was longer than expected, and it would be great if they could work on expediting service. Additionally, the cleanliness of the dining area could use some attention. A cleaner environment would enhance the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, I appreciate the tasty offerings at Deccan Morsels, particularly the Irani tea, Chicken 65, Rumali Roti, and Zafrani tea. With some improvements in wait time and cleanliness, along with the continued polite and customer-friendly attitude of the staff and owner, I believe this cafe has the potential to offer an even more enjoyable dining experience. I look forward to revisiting and witnessing...
Read moreI had a very enjoyable experience at Deccan Morsels, and it’s definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone who enjoys authentic Hyderabadi flavors. The moment I walked in, I could tell this place was popular — there was a steady crowd, which is always a good sign for a food lover.
The chai stood out to me right away — it had a royal touch, both in taste and presentation. Rich, aromatic, and comforting, it really brought out the cultural essence that Deccan Morsels aims to represent. It felt like sipping on a piece of heritage.
As for the food, the Romali Roti and Chicken 65 combo was the absolute highlight. The roti was soft and paper-thin, just as it should be, and paired perfectly with the spicy, flavorful Chicken 65 — crispy, well-marinated, and bursting with spices. I can see why this is considered their specialty — it was honestly one of the best versions of this dish I’ve had in a long time.
The ambiance was also lovely — charming and traditional with warm lighting and ethnic decor that gave the place a cozy vibe. However, I will say that the space is quite small and with the number of people coming in, it can get a bit crowded and feel slightly rushed. The limited seating means you might have to wait during busy hours, and it can get a little hectic, especially on weekends.
That said, the food and the unique cultural vibe more than make up for it. It’s a great place for a quick, flavorful meal that feels both satisfying and authentic. I’ll definitely be coming back — maybe during off-peak hours to enjoy it more...
