We were in the area and got hungry. We pass this place often and finally decided to try it. It is easy to spot the restaurant since it's on the corner of Fremont and Chapel. The parking lot is on Chapel, so don't miss it or you'll end up going around the block. It would have been a rating of 4, "liked it", but had to subtract a little, closer to a 3.5, "it's okay", because of the extra wait time to get our food.
Pros: easy to find, free parking lot behind the restaurant on Chapel ST, cozy diner style setting, never ending cup of coffee, service is good, lots of regular patrons, can sit at booths or at the counter, manager/owner is very attentive and works very hard, food is very good for the items we ordered, some of the foods seem like it is pre-made, bought or previously frozen (taste was still very good)
Cons: restaurant feels small after your walk in, booths and benches were in need of repairs, we had to wait a bit longer than we like for our order, although service was good, but not as efficient as it could be, again, manager/owner was working very hard, she could have delegated better or hired an extra person for busy times. (Then again, right now it's hard for any business to find good help)
Food was very good, and so we will revisit when we are...
Read moreDina's Restaurant is a charming mom and pop diner that holds a special place in my heart. As a supporter of family-owned businesses, I always appreciate the warm atmosphere and homemade feel they offer.
Upon arrival, we found open seating, which was convenient. However, it was evident that they were a bit short-staffed, understandable for a small diner. Despite the hustle and bustle, the staff took our order efficiently.
Unfortunately, there was a small hiccup with my all-meat omelette. I had requested jalapeños and cheese to be added, but they were initially missing. After bringing it to their attention, they promptly added them. However, in the process, my omelette ended up overcooked, as they put it back on the skillet.
Despite this minor issue, I will continue to support Dina's as a loyal customer. I understand that mishaps can occur, especially when they're busy and short-handed.
On a positive note, my husband and son thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My son particularly loved the ribeye and eggs.
Overall, Dina's Restaurant is a lovely spot for a cozy family meal, and I look forward to returning and supporting this wonderful family-owned...
Read more** I'm changing my review from the other day. I went back today on Sunday and the service was Wonderful. I'm gonna chalk it up as maybe a bad day for the server and myself. Once again, the food was fantastic. The only thing I could say that could be a little better Is the country potatoes they need to be crispier and maybe some onion. I'm glad I came back.
The food was Very good. I had the ribeye stake with baked potato and vegetables. Putting the butter on my potato as I went to use the pepper somebody had loosen the top and it went everywhere. I would have requested a new one. But the waitress had no plans on coming over and checking on me at all. However, she was very helpful for the man to take his order to go and also a regular. Me however, I felt like a nobody. The service will probably keep me from going back. Gonna miss the good...
