Don’t be fooled by the reviews about their food. Their fish is completely stale and inedible. The Bombil thali was SO bad that I could eat even one piece of the fish. One of us got an upset stomach after eating here. And we are native fish eaters. Even the vegetable in the thali was stale and stinking. When we told the server (since he asked for feedback) - that the fish is spoilt and inedible, he didnot feel the need to do anything about it. He kept passing the blame saying that main chef is out and the other chef will have to talk to the main chef etc. Why ask for feedback if you don’t really want to take it ?The owner seemed nice - he came and spoke to us in the beginning. Their exhaust system doesnot work, the entire restaurant was smelling of hot oil (that smell that frying food generates) and their AC was also not working. And instead of owning up to it, this smart server kept saying that everything is working well and on full blast but he wasn’t sure why the place felt like an oven. Overall this place is substandard and empty - I’m not surprised why. Their server lacks basic courtesy towards customers to top it off with horrendous inedible food. He just seemed off - he gave us one paper napkin (it was 2 of us) and was hesitant when we asked for more 😂 I have never eaten SUCH bad Indian food in...
Read moreIf you’re looking for truly comforting, flavor-packed Indian food in the Bay Area, this is the spot. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but this place absolutely deserves the love.
We’ve been coming here for a while now, and I can honestly say the food never disappoints. It’s the kind of place that keeps pulling you back in—weekday, weekend, doesn’t matter. The taste? Always on point. The service? Even better.
What really sets this place apart is Abdul, the owner. He’s warm, kind, and goes out of his way to make every guest feel welcome. Every time we visit, he greets us personally—both before and after the meal—and it’s that extra touch that makes the experience feel so special.
Now, let’s talk food. The Balti Paneer and Dal Fry are to die for—like, can’t-stop-scooping-every-last-bite good. My friend swears by the Shrimp Balchao, and Abdul told us he handpicks recipes from across India, curating a menu that reflects different regions and his own creativity. You can tell every dish has been crafted with love and pride.
And sure, the restaurant might not look fancy from the outside—but don’t let that fool you. If you’re craving bold, authentic, dhaba-style food, this is your place. It’s comfort food at its...
Read moreWe love Mumbai Chowk and are big fans of this restaurant. It’s one of the best Indian restaurant in Fremont.
Mumbai Chowk Indian restaurant exceeds my expectations with its flavorful and authentic dishes every single time. The rich aromatic spices will transport you to the heart of India. The service here is impeccable, and the cozy ambiance adds to the overall delightful dining experience. I highly recommend trying their diverse menu for a culinary journey through the vibrant tastes of Indian cuisine.
They offer an extensive variety of dishes, catering to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Their vada pav is unparalleled, and even my non-Indian friend, who was hesitant to try Indian cuisine, is now a regular for their butter chicken and garlic naan. We’ve explored a range of dishes including Butter Chicken, Lahsuni Palak Paneer, Tadka Daal, Balti Chicken, Balti Paneer, Chole Kulche, and Frankie – each dish is incredibly flavorful. It’s a must-try for everyone; I highly recommend it! Counting down the days until my next...
