My family and I went out to eat at RRR Biryanis today in Fremont and I must say that right off the bat, the atmosphere was okay, the restaurant was small but there was about 9 or 10 small tables and it was pretty much empty other than a couple on a date and two photographers who were taking photos of the food for some video. There was a T.V. playing some bollywood music and yeah, it was okay, so that's a 3 stars. The staff and service there were nice, giving us our food on time and asking us if the food is good, as usual. So that's a 4 stars. But the only part of this experience which kind of pissed my family and I was the food as I will explain shortly. First of all, we were given our plates and two of them were broken which we just got replaced. After a quick 10 minutes, we got the first part of the order which was some haleem, which was okay, and it was nothing special. Then, we were given a very oily chicken 555 which just contained of some coriander, cashew and chicken fried in lots of oil. And when I mean lots, I mean a LOT. All I could taste was oil and I left half of it. Then, we were served the main part of our dinner. The vijawada chicken biryani with a side of what seemed like chicken 65 or chilli chicken (I'm not sure as what we were given because the chicken and the gulab jamun was complimentary which was nice :)) With that, we got two mango lassis which were tasty. And, to top it all off we got two cups of chai. But here's where it went wrong, the chicken 65/chilli chicken was also oily, but not as oily as the chicken 555 and it was given in a small quantity, especially for a family pack. But otherwise, the chicken was good. The vijaywada family pack however, wasn't as great as other restaurants I've ate at. Usually vijaywada chicken biryanis have that reddish chicken and a little bit more flavor than others. I didn't see that here. I just found a bunch of rice and dull brown chicken (but in the photo I made it look kinda good just for formality). The biryani had absolutely some to no taste and it just tasted like rice and a little bit of chicken mixed together. Like, at that point, it wasn't even biryani. After that, we paid our bill of about 90-100 bucks which is about the average bill for a family dinner at an indian restaurant and left. So yeah, overall, it's an okay restaurant if you're nearby, but I suggest try...
Read moreI recently had a disappointing experience at RRR Biryanis. I called ahead to place an order and they told me it would be ready for pick-up within 5 minutes. However, when I arrived 20 minutes later, my order wasn't even started. This happened not just once, but two times on separate occasions. Each time, I was asked to wait despite their initial promise of quick service.
If you're someone who values efficiency and expects your food to be ready on time when ordering by phone for pick-up, I would strongly advise against choosing this restaurant. It seems they struggle to fulfill their promises and manage their orders effectively. Unless you have plenty of time to spare and don't mind waiting longer than anticipated, I cannot recommend this place for anyone looking for a reliable...
