Ampersand has managed to combine the nostalgic, special feeling of "going out for a scoop" with modern flavor combinations like Whiskey Caramel Swirl, Nectarine Sage sorbet, Sweet Corn, and Apricot Cherry Goat Cheese!

All ice creams and sorbets are small batch and made in-house with quality (and usually local) ingredients. There's a board inside with their constant flavor options plus a chalkboard that notes the monthly specials. In addition to the range of flavor profiles I appreciate the different scoop sizing! They have a Kid's scoop (now served with sprinkles), a Mini (single scoop), Small (two scoops), Medium (three scoops), and Large (4 scoops). You can also order a flight board! Four scoops individually scooped and served on a board with multiple spoons for tasting and sharing. Of course you can order your ice cream as a milkshake or a sundae if you're not a fan of the scoop method!

Quintessential neighborhood ice cream spot. Ampersand Ice Cream is located on the corner of Weldon and Echo, just before the Van Ness continuation north of Weldon.

They have their ready to sell ice cream in a fridge that stores roughly 12-16 tubs of different delicious ice cream flavors! The owners and their wonderful employees are never hesitant to talk ice cream or hand out samples to customers new and old.

My go to is the Caramel Whiskey, though it's always fun to share a flight of 4 with family and try out a ton of the other flavors. We had a strawberry balsamic last week and it was incredible. Super creamy and rich with a hint of carmelized developed flavors.

What's even better is getting ice cream during open hours at Kuppa Joy down the street and drowning a vanilla scoop in delicious espresso!

This spot is great for enjoying ice cream after a quesadilla at the new restaurant next door to them or a caramel whiskey shake while you lounge in the shaded, informal parklet across the street.

Best ice cream in Fresno (and beyond)!!! The ice cream is gourmet small batch ice cream made from local ingredients and unique flavor profiles. They of course have some old fashioned favorites, but their specials are usually what I'm after. However, their mint chip is sooo good, especially in a milk shake.

One of their specialty fixed flavors is honeycomb and it is a MUST try. It has chunks of honeycomb/brittle and is just perfectly delicious. Definitely one of my top 3 flavors of all time.

Each month they bring in specials just for that month and it's always fun to go in every month and try them.

One thing they also do amazingly well are cookies. They make a snickerdoodle that is perfection and their salted chocolate chip is mouth watering.

The setting is casual and modern, and they offer self serve water which is nice after all that ice cream.
