Piemonte's Italian Delicatessen — Restaurant in Fresno

I came in on Tuesday; Oct. 8, 2024 at first service was not so bad after once I had gotten my sandwiches.

So the sandwiches use to be so good. I’ve come here since I was younger growing up & now that I’m older I still come once in awhile.

After this day I will not be back thank you to Maddie, her wonderful customer service. She made a comment to another employee just because I asked for extra lettuce.

First off I paid for the extra lettuce. Maddie checked me out but the other lady who was nice enough to get the side of lettuce had been polite.

Maddie made a facial expression saying how I wanted a refund just because the sandwich didn’t have extra lettuce.

I confronted Maddie mentioning how rude it is to speak about a customer right in front of the person.

Well thankfully the other employee again apologizing for the inconvenience.

Was kind of worried when I saw a line out the door that we wouldn't be back in time for our hour lunch, but was happy to see the line was simply that they have a couple of registers right when you walk in to accommodate safety for their staff. We were in and out in about 15 minutes from line to order to receiving our sandwiches. They were the perfect size for a lunch break. Not so small that you're hungry at 2, but not so heavy that you're asleep by 2. First visit I went with the Marco Polo. Salame, pepper cheese, wax peppers, shredded lettuce and oil and oregano mix. I ordered with mayo and the woman kindly suggested leaving that off so I could taste the mix. I'm so glad I followed through with that. Mayo would have really overpowered the oregano. Well. Everything is pretty good here EXCEPT the meatball sandwich. OMG...if Fresno people seriously think that is a good meatball sandwich then your missing out. There was zero spice or herbs in those mushy looking Luke warm meatballs. Tasted like it was frozen then thawed out and undercooked in a pan not hot so I simply walked back inside and asked if I could swap it out for another sandwich and they actually told me no which was shocking that is why they get two stars. I'd prefer to go to Sam's Deli for now on because Sam's would have swapped it out if I didn't like it no questions asked and they're closer to my home as well. Just because YOU THINK everyone likes your meatball sandwich doesn't mean there might be one customer who doesn't. Drop the ego...
