Sunnyside Diner — Restaurant in Fresno

Ok so I have worked on the EAST side, I live near this area about 5 min drive, I am blown away by the food, the atmosphere, the service...started off like first time? Was like yes, kinda felt like eating at Monterey or the Bay, gots that vibe for example the menu is on a big print out on the wall, keeping it simple for those old folks that can't figure out what to order. The space is smaller limited but it works keeps server host close, true dinner experience, 8 tables total 3 are small...not many people fill in...I seen two people take food to go, does not mean it don't get packed. I think I can see this place growing. Love the fact the culture of the family who owns this shines and is obvious they come from a working class...I honestly feel they own and operate this business...

Since in Fresno recapping 34 hours ...looked up breakfasts in local area and found this Sunshine Diner. Our first time there and we met Lupe. Lupe was on it cooking up food and taking orders on the phone. He showed us the specials of the day and directed us to the menu of all dishes. We started with my calm chowder in a bread bowl and fiancé had eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and full stack pancakes. Coffee for me and orange juice for the 👨 😁. I loved my calm chowder it felt like I was on the wharf in Monterey, Ca.🥰😍😄😁. Finacé loved his food as well. Very happy truckers. Was just passing through after dropping my husband at the airport, looking for a breakfast nook for my daughter and I. Noticed some good reviews on google and took a chance on Sunnyside. WOW. It was nothing fancy, but you could see the years and years of experience that went into each dish. I've worked in a few restaurants myself, and I'm telling you, you can really see a chef's talent in the simple meals. The pancakes were so fluffy, the eggs cooked exactly the way I ordered.
