The Joy Thru - Kuppa Joy Coffee — Restaurant in Fresno

The breakfast burritos, pastries and people are fabulous, the only reason I give it 3 Stars is because it's a coffee house & the coffee is awful! The only coffee available at the Joy Thru has chocolate in it- I can't stand chocolate, so it ruins the coffee completely. I actually enjoy the taste of coffee/espresso. The employees at the Joy thru have said, that's the only kind of coffee the Grand Cafe will provide them, yet having other options at both storefront locations. Please re-think that, maybe it's your cheapest version to use (which is typically the case when covering the flavor of the coffee beans, it's usually because it's not a good quality coffee bean & it needs to be masked or nobody would drink it) but at least give people an option, even if it costs a bit more. I drink a LOT of coffee, love to support local companies & really appreciate the convenience of a drive-thru as I'm always on the go; but I've never finished a cup from there & can't see wasting the money on something that I really don't like. To each their own, and I know a lot of people do like chocolate, but for those of us who don't, you're losing...

My sister, my mom and I decided to grab a quick drink and breakfast this morning, and we found Joy Thru through a Google search. The pictures on Google looked good and they had high reviews, so we were looking forward to trying a new place. Unfortunately, everything from the coffee to the food to the service was "just ok". The Garden Bagel sandwich is 3/4 cold bagel and 1/4 brown or wilted veggies. We were told it was supposed to have feta cheese, but neither of the sandwiches did. They were pretty hard to choke down, so I threw mine away after a few bites. My mom got coffee and a ham and cheese croissant, and again they were both pretty lackluster. The girl the the window was nice, until I had questions, then she seemed to be irritated when I asked about leaving the bacon off of a chipotle sandwich. I think its perfectly fine to say that the food items are all pre-made and no adjustments or substitutions can be made. The one bright spot (the reason for the 2nd star) was the lavender lemonade. Yum, I love this place! Mmmm the coffee's are the bomb! ❤️ The Hallelujah is a thing of wonder. Mmmm I have tried almost all of them. The bakery goods are yum too! Update 3/4/25 Came in early today. They had lots of food left. I got a chicken artichoke Panini with creme fraiche! Uh! That's the best thing I have had in such a long time. 😋 I also got a blueberry muffin and it was also mouth watering. I highly recommend this awesome place and the awesome people...
