The food was good, I got the Ortega burger and it was cooked well and had good flavor. I added jalapeños for a little extra bite.. The biscuits and gravy were okay. They weren't the worst we have had but the biscuits were still doughy and with the gravy added it made them really mushy. The gravy itself was plain. We added pepper to it and it tasted better. The chorizo in the breakfast burrito had no flavor which is not something I would expect from chorizo, the burrito was big but it wasn't very flavorful. We got a cinnamon roll and it was huge and good, but very mushy as well. My biggest issue though was not with their food. I rated a 1 star for their customer service. I placed my order by walking up and ordering to take it to go. They told me where to park and soon after came to get my credit card to charge. They charged it, I signed the receipt, and I waited for an hour. After watching several other cars come and go I gave them a call. I gave it so long because I figured they were busy and was giving them time. I am not the type of person to bug out about things. I myself work in customer service and know how hard it can be. The line was busy the first couple times I called, but I did finally get an answer. They asked the name for the order and I told them, they said they checked but could not find my ticket. They questioned if I had paid, I told them I did, and they had to go back to check if my card was run. At this point if I had paid cash, I would have asked for a refund and left without the food. After a few minutes they came back on the line to let me know that I had paid (I knew I had) and said they will get my food out to me, confirmed what I wanted and ordered and then hung up. No apologies or anything of that sort. A few minutes later they came to my car with the food, didn't apologize for the hour wait but said they were busy, and that they had given my food to someone else. I asked to speak with a manager, which is something that I don't do. I don't like conflict and I don't like causing trouble but this felt like a pretty big inconvenience as I am a freelance worker on the side and this wait took away from the time I was able to work and actually be able to make money. They said they couldn't get me a manager because they were too busy but could get me a cinnamon roll, still no apologies. Got my cinnamon roll and told me to have a nice day and walked away. This place has rave reviews, I was expecting so much better not just from the food but from the customer service side of things because many of these reviews say they have great hospitality. I don't feel at all like this place lives up to the reviews they have been given. I'm severely disappointed and this experience has been enough for me to want to tell people not to chance it here, and I unfortunately won't be returning to spend my money...
Read morePoor poor customer service!!! This is our second time here, with the first experience being good. We were told by our server the last time that the train runs and if we ask they would let the train run. Fast forward to today, we brought the kids out to eat and to see the train run. We waited for roughly 15 mins to get seated while asking to see if the train can be turned on for the kids. We were told the train barely got turned off so it needs a break. We waited another 15-20 mins to get our order taken. We ask the server again to see if they can turn the train on, they said sure. We waited for another 10 minutes we got our drinks and now it’s been about 40 minutes with no train being turned on so we ask the server if we can just pay for our drinks that we got and to cancel our order. The manager Julian told me he needed to get our server to pay us out. He comes back and tells us that our food will be out briefly and that we needed to pay for it! I told him that I was going to pay for the items I have on hand which was the sodas and that I wasn’t going to pay for anything I didn’t receive yet. I also told him the purpose of us going there to eat was to see the train run, and if they weren’t going to turn the train on why did they give us the run around that it was taking a break. When asked how long does the train need to be on break for the manager Julian couldn’t give me an answer. I told him that the food wasn’t the problem and that it was the customer service! He was trying to forcibly make me pay for the food which I never received and repeatedly lie to me. He told me the food was coming out and we had a back and forth conversation for nearly 5 minutes. I wasnt able to talk to anyone of importance because he refused to give me any details and said that I can come or call back on the weekdays to talk to the owners. Finally after pushing the issue that I wasn’t going to pay for food I never received they gave me the bill for my drinks and I paid and left. Definitely not coming back!!! I will be going back to file a complaint about the manager and to talk to the owners though, I will not stand and let anyone try to...
Read more(Experience) where do I begin is not a traditional restaurant it's located in the older part of fresno off of Ashlan & all the waiters and waitresses are not your typical inexperienced & green to hospitality....NO this team is solid and works together to make a simple dining experience into something extraordinary they all have their own personality some loud some quiet but the end goal is to take great care of you and that is exactly what this staff will do. I had one Gentleman take our order a different bring our food and different waiters refiling our drinks and lastly bringing our check. Absolutely superb it wasn't a one waiter per section who can't keep up with the hustle of a Busy morning restaurant.
(Food) The Soda was so Crisp and Fresh with Crushed Ice... The Food was very flavourful and absolutely perfectly cooked. This truly in my Opinion is the best Breakfast spot innFresnon& I will definitely be back.
Only Negative There is absolutely no Gluten-free Options and a place serving food this good and a staff this Talented would truly be the best and untouchable if they would have som GF options available.
