When looking for a burger, people tend to focus on the big chains and miss out on some hidden gems, like Weekend Dreams. It does take a little to find, but boy howdy, do they make a great burger. Had a simple bacon cheese burger, but it was by far, better than the CA chain everyone waits IN huge lines for, better than the geometric drive-in place, better than the place that changes names depending on which side of the Mississippi River you are on.
What's the secret? They actually SEASON the patty, actually cook the bacon instead of reheating it, and use good toppings.
The fries are those thin twice fried French fries so they have that extra crispy outside but fluffy inside.
Don't like burgers, well, you can get a variety of other meals ranging from quesadillas to rice bowls. I haven't tried those, but if they are of the same quality as the burgers, you are in for a treat!
Skip the drive through, drive-ins, and burger places named after states and give this small shop a try. You will be...
Read moreWe like to try out some of the restaurants reviewed by one of the local stations. We drove to the other side of town just to check out this place and it was disappointing. My son did not finish his food which is rare for this growing teen. He loves dessert and left more than half of it. I think I ordered the wrong thing and I just couldn't eat it. The pepper popcorn chicken was breaded (mistake 1 on my part) and it had onions that tasted like liquid soap dish. The juices of the peppers and the sauce that dripped on the rice made it tasty but for the most part, my meal went into the trash as did my son's. I was able to eat some of tge fries which were a bit over fried. The place is very cheerful, has several TV screens with sports going so it seems that it would be a great place to watch games, have a beer and food... just not for us. Maybe we will give it another try...
Read moreMy son brought me to lunch here today. They have a pizza place, then 6 doors down, they had a wing and burger joint! When I tell u my jaw dropped to the floor when I seen their menu! They have a extensive menu of such a unique variety of sandwiches and plates. U can choose from soul food to Chinese teriyaki style bowls. So many burger options. They literally had me looking at my menu a good 10 minutes until we ordered. I got a tri-tip meal that was only 11.99 and my son got a Philly cheesecake sandwich for around the same price. The lady who worked there was so nice and helped me with whatever we needed. The food was made to order and cooked with love and care. The French fries were a hit too! Hot and crispy, right out of the oil. This place is really a hidden gem that I wish more people knew about. I will definitely be back again with my family soon. Great atmosphere and...
