Friend and myself were looking for a new place to try. We were excited that Fridley had a newer place so we decided to come here. Online the photos of the menu and prices are 4 months old. When we arrived the prices on the actual menu were DOUBLE what were shown online, not sure if this was a marketing trick or not. The reviews of the place were high, yet when we dug deeper after our TERRIBLE meal we noticed they were more staged than actual. We ordered the gyro/chicken bowl ($17.99), Fish and wings ($17.99), and a double cheeseburger with fries ($13.99) again, mind you DOUBLE what was on the photos posted of their menu. We got home and the food was inedible. The size of the bowl did not warrant that price to begin with. It was the size of a medium sized cereal bowl, and there was no flavor. The fish was slimy on the inside while the breading was crispy, and the wings were pink on the inside. The burger was cooked to the point of two HOCKEY PUCKS burned/dried. I've NEVER thrown away a cheeseburger as I can eat those 10x a week if my body would let me. For the more than $50 we spent we felt hoodwinked. The staff was polite, service fine, but in the end for what we paid and what we got, we won't be back. A side note, this is a restaurant inside a gas station and the staff for the gas station was polite and entertaining. I've been a resident for 16 years and this was my first trip into the business and...
Read moreThis is truly a hidden gem. The food is amazing, reasonably priced, and the service was excellent.
The guy who was working when I went was very kind and pleasant, and didn't seem to mind answering my basic questions about the food (some of which was unfamiliar to me).
I can't say enough how impressed I was with the taste and freshness of the food. It's similar to Slim's, but I prefer it over Slim's (which is saying something), and it was less expensive.
This is a takeout place. You can order ahead, order from the window (walk-up) and wait in your car, or walk into the gas station to the counter at the back to order. (I gave it 5 stars for atmosphere because atmosphere is irrelevant for take out.)
I would definitely pay more for the food, but I will go a lot more often if they keep...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but my experience with this c-store deli was so exceptional, and nudged me to provide feedback. Visiting Minnesota from out of state to celebrate a friend’s birthday, I went out looking for halal food and chanced upon this place. I ordered the smashed burger and kofta kebab sandwich, and both of which were killer! No kidding: If not better than most fancy eateries, the tastes were just splendid.
