We decided to give this place a try based on a a friend's recommendation. At first glance I instantly thought twice about going in, been here done that thing before but went in anyway. I should have went with my instincts on this one, more overpriced food. The boutique/market is the main identity of this place which would explain the food prices. We took a look at the menu and my coworker ordered first and when he heard the price I could only think of the big one from Sandford & Son but he kept his composure which meant I had to order as well. So 2 burgers, 2 tots, & 2 drinks later we are a tad over $40. Well this was definitely a one time visit, So we sat down at the family style table and hoped that the burgers were at least worth the money. Hoping was all there would be, the burger was small and there could not of been more than 10 tots in the boat with it. After finishing the burger and tots I will have to say that for the money the food was a total let down. The tots were your run of the meal tots and the double meat smash burger was a single patty burger anywhere else. Well here is what we ordered.
Tex-Mex Burger. $12.95 - 5/10 Refried Bean, Cheddar Cheese, Fritos, Salsa and White onions The burger was way smaller than I was expecting for $13, the flavors were overpowered by the onions and Fritos. The beans, salsa , and meat were there but not really present. Overall the burger was not horrible by any means just not anywhere close to the price point they commanded. Tator Tots +$2.75. Just average tots. - They were crunchy at least. Iced Tea $ 3.50
Locals Burger "You Build It". $10.95. - 5/10 Double meat smash burger built how you like it! Pickle | Lettuce | Tomato | White Onions Nothing special, decent burger just not worth the money. Tator Tots +$2.75. Iced Tea $ 3.50
The customer service was good and the place is nice. Lots of specialty items in the market. I love supporting local businesses but I am just not one to pay for overpriced food. If you love the place then do so but JLBs is right down the street and their burger is on a whole...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Locals for the first time for a date night.
I ordered the Locals Burger with tots, and it was honestly one of the best smash burgers I’ve ever had — just amazing. My wife had the Street Tacos (three different kinds), and they were good, but nothing particularly special.
A few things did put us off: • The staff was very friendly and attentive — maybe a bit too friendly. We waited in line far longer than necessary because employees were having lengthy conversations instead of taking orders. • The indoor seating area is tiny. We were seated next to another couple who were visited by a staff member, and their conversation got so lively and loud that we had to move outside just to hear each other talk. • $85 for a burger, street tacos, and a bottle of wine? That price point just doesn’t feel justified.
In the end, the outstanding smash burger wasn’t enough to make up for the overall experience or the cost. I’d definitely recommend the burger itself — but for us, the rest is...
Read moreFirst time coming here and we had an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately made it feel like home. Michael was incredibly friendly and attentive without ever being overbearing—just the perfect balance of professional and personable. Now let’s talk about the food—wow! If I could give it six stars I would. Every dish was bursting with flavor and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. You can tell the kitchen puts real care and passion into what they create. Whether you’re looking for a laid back dinner with friends, a date night, or just a place to treat yourself to a great meal, this spot is a winner. Can’t wait to go back!
Ps Can ya’ll add those Brussel sprouts to the menu that you have a recipe card for? You would knock it out...
