Black Rock Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Frisco

The service is sloooooow! I ordered coffee and after sitting over 5 minutes, returned to the counter. “ Do you want your coffee now?” 🤭I ordered avocado toast and inquired if they serve turkey bacon. The response I received was we do not have turkey bacon, we have chicken bacon. 🤔 I repeated what I was told two times and said I’ll give it a shot. Chicken bacon. we waited more than 20 minutes and I told my son we are going to be late for the event, you need to go to the counter and tell them we need it to go. I don’t understand why I got two pieces of avocado toast open face. I only ordered one. They looked a mess! There was diced chicken and paper, thin bacon of some type. I didn’t order chicken and bacon. I’ve never heard of chicken bacon, but I was told that’s what I was being served so I was very surprised. I came home and tried to reconstitute my order the next morning. I threw away the soggy toast with the avocado smear that look like a baby diaper mess. Poo. I took a quarter of a fork full of food and it was awful. It tasted greasy and tasteless. Very strange for a coffee breakfast establishment not to be able to make a cup of coffee, serve it in a timely manner. And toss in a delicious piece of avocado toast. I wish I had taken my son to Ascension where I know they serve fantastic, lavender coffee, and avocado toast,...

I wanted to LOVE this place due to convenience but I have now gone there three times...two of which I left disappointed. First time ...got an iced coffee with heavy cream...it was delish...was so excited to go back because the taste of the iced coffee was some of the best I've ever had. But then the last two times I have gone I ordered the same thing. They gave me milk not cream as ordered in iced coffee and the flavor was off. I could not finish the drink. Most recently, i wanted to give another shot because my first time was fabulous...when I asked for heavy cream I was told they do not have that. I asked how a coffee shop doesnt have heavy cream and asked if they were just out and I was told nope, they do not have it. I told them I got a coffee with it before. They said ok and would make it. Got to drive thru window and again it was what seemed like 2% milk not even half and half. It wasn't creamy and im special and i like my creamy coffee lol. The gal taking orders is very kind but hard to understand and I think there may be a language barrier as she was the same gal who took my order the two times my drink...

On a Thursday evening from a week I had’t ventured out too much, I looked up gMaps for coffee houses near me and found black Rock in a 5 minute driving distance.

As every other place in the outskirts of Dallas, parking was easy (I think they had a drive thru). The place had about 5 tables enuf to accommodate atleast 20 people at a time. Pretty spacious and neat. Though on this evening there were only 2 other people in the coffee shop outside of me.

I placed an order for a Matcha Latte, and the Baristas were prompt with their service. The bakery shelf looked empty and nothing intrigued my interest for the evening. The drink on its own was pretty underwhelming for me though, with the matcha coarse in the drink.

I think it is a fine place to go to if you want to get some work done. The music choice for the evening though was very mixed, and a majority of Club music. Needed headphones to drown that and...
