Terrible in every conceivable way.

My partner and I have given this restaurant several chances. I'd like you to save your money and avoid it for the reasons we will be.

  1. They do not care about your time. Whether dining in or ordering carryout online, sushi takes absurdly long to come out. The ballpark of an hour for pretty basic stuff. Drinks take forever, and the "bartenders" couldn't care less.

  2. It's inconsistent, overpriced, grocery store sushi. There have been times it was "good", and other's we'd wished we got (better) grocery store sushi for lower cost. Our last order hit an all time low. BOTH eel roll orders contained mere slivers you would expect from the dollar general market (pic attached). The remainder of the rolls were equally disappointing. The Miso Soup contained a piece of seaweed and almost no tofu. The "spicy edamame" was unpalatably spicy.

  3. You can make better drinks at home for a fraction of the cost. Their liquor selection is terrible, and it's all massively overpriced. They try to charge "premium liquor" prices for mediocre liquor.

  4. The management couldn't care less. --- 4:A) On our first visit, my partner went to the ladies bathroom and was followed in by a man who urinated in there. She raised the issue, and nothing was done. They said nothing to him and allowed him to stay. It also took us an hour to receive our order of sushi rolls that night. --- 4:B) On a recent visit, we put in a pretty basic carryout order consisting of nothing complex - 4 basic rolls, miso soup, edamame, and one order each of sashimi (just a slice of fish) and nigiri (just a slice of fish, but on rice). It took them FIFTY (50) minutes to prepare. My partner waited for over a half hour in the lobby, while being told "just a few more minutes" constantly. When ordering online, they do not provide an estimated pickup time. When she complained to the manager, he had a bad attitude, was not apologetic or accommodating, and made the excuse that this was a "big order" (pic attached) and that they were "really busy" despite the bar and restaurant area being dead.

We tried supporting a local business, and it's stung us over and over. You'll experience better value, quality, and service by driving further to a good...

My husband and I have been loyal customers of Osaka about a year now. The food is always amazing, the drinks are fantastic (shoutout to Victoria!!), and we’ve been lucky enough to be served by Faith on multiple occasions. Faith is honestly one of the best servers we’ve ever had anywhere attentive, kind, and always on top of everything. The hibachi chefs, too, are consistently entertaining and make dining here a special experience.

Unfortunately, what has started to ruin our visits is the new manager, Neo. Every time we’ve come in since he started, we’ve witnessed him being shockingly rude and demeaning to his staff right in front of customers. It is not only unprofessional but also extremely uncomfortable to watch while trying to enjoy a meal.

One evening, during a busy dinner rush, Neo was yelling at servers because the drinks “weren’t filled up all the way.” The energy in the room completely shifted. In fact, another family seated nearby even leaned over to ask if we noticed it too it was that obvious. On another visit, as we were leaving, we saw Neo get in the face of the hostess and mock her in a way that felt like middle-school bullying. It was disturbing and humiliating to watch.

We even asked Faith about it once, and she tried to defend him, saying, “Sometimes they just get stressed and nervous, but I promise they mean well.” While we appreciate her kindness, it was clear she was only trying to protect her boss. After coming here so many times, we know this isn’t just stress it’s a repeated pattern of behavior.

Osaka is a restaurant we’ve always loved, but it’s getting harder and harder to return when we have to watch employees be belittled by their own manager. There is no reason for anyone especially leadership to treat hardworking staff this way. We miss the old manager, Michael, who knew how to run this restaurant with respect, professionalism, and warmth. Until things change, we don’t know if we can keep...

When we moved to DFW from Torrance, CA, the first thing we did was scout the area for the best sushi joints. After many misses, we finally have found our favorite spots and Osaka Hibachi Sushi & Bar made that list. We've dined in at Osaka many times, both during lunch and dinner, and we always had a great experience regardless of dining time. I think we enjoyed the dinner vibe more, only because patrons get their drink on and that adds to the atmosphere and camaraderie. The service is impeccable and the food (sushi and sashimi are all we order) are one of the best and freshest we've had in the DFW area, without breaking the bank. It's also very kid friendly. Every time we dined here with our 7yo son, our host always give him a little trinket to take home (balloon toy, glow-in-the-dark toy watch, etc.). It's the little personable touch and attention to details to service that keeps us returning to Osaka. I think the owner (or manager, gentleman with a tie) checked up on us during one of our dinner dine-in, which added a nice touch. Our go-to dish is the Love Boat for two, while our son love their cheesecake tempura. The Love Boat contains 16 pieces of sashimi, 8 pieces of nigiri sushi with 1 California roll, 2 spicy tuna hand roll and 1 dragon roll including miso soup and salad starter. There is a full bar in the main dining area, so you can imbibe to your heart's desire straight after dinner (or during dinner). Fine sake list. Osaka is definitely one of our go-to sushi joint in the DFW area. If you're new to the area and are looking for a great sushi spot, give Osaka Hibachi Sushi & Bar a try, you...

This was our first time dining here. The host and staff were very friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu (it's a LARGE menu with a seemingly endless choice of sushi or other meal options). We decided to get something familiar as our first meal, and selected the Chicken Teriyaki bento box and a variety of vegetable rolls. Everything was fresh and tasty. The teriyaki sauce was a bit milder than we expected, which isn't a bad thing... it just didn't seem to have as much flavor as we've had elsewhere (but it was still good). The avocado, cucumber and mixed vegetable rolls were very fresh and tasty. We were also impressed with the large portions for both menu items, as well as the miso soup and salad appetizers. Pricing was about what you'd expect for a fresh, tasty meal. We could hear the fun happening back at the Hibachi tables in the adjoining room, so we'll have to come back and check that out next. The only constructive comment would be to possibly relocate the used dinnerware cart (or put up a screen, etc). The dining area is decorated VERY nicely but I spent most of the meal time looking at dish bins waiting to go to the kitchen. Overall a non-issue (and the cart WAS near the kitchen) but those little touches might help with the overall dining experience. We were told they've only been open for a couple of months, so check them out if you want a good meal in a convenient location. We'll definitely be back.
