My Mother and I had visited Suravi's Chapter 1 on Stonebrook Pkwy in Frisco last year and previously enjoyed their Goat Ghee Roast Biriyani. I had seen sometime last year that they were having an opening for their second location on Custer and ElDorado and just got around to eating here for lunch for the first time today. A bit out of our way since we live in The Colony, but still not too bad of a drive. It is worth the distance just to enjoy comfort food.
We had a hankering for Goat Ghee Roast Biriyani and the nice young lady at the front - Rekha - also recommended the Cilantro Chicken! Both dishes were excellent!
Oh, the myriad of flavors and tantalizing spices in both dishes that packed a punch, lingered on the palate, and made for a life-changing culinary journey and experience. It was so tasty! The goat meat pieces were so succulent and well-seasoned and practically fell off the bone. I would request and advise the Chef not to cut them too small since bone fragments may cause a choking hazard to patrons.
Indian Food should be delightfully spicy (not fire-breathing dragon hot, but slightly numbing). It was a balanced/comfortable spice level 2; I cannot imagine anything higher than that, but if you can do it, more power to you. Prices and portions are also in line with which I would feel comfortable without compromising on quality.
Nice setup with a modern, industrial feel. We were the only patrons for the first 45 minutes of opening. Order and pay at the counter and they call your name when your food is ready. If we are in the area again, we would certainly return and try...
Read moreWe went on Feb 9, Sunday around 11 am. Paid for the buffet and went to the counter. Small shocks: idli, medu vada, peanut chutney, bonda, and sambhar were all out of stock. We saw the sambhar was being refilled and by the time our turn in the queue came up, the sambhar was again out of stock. Then came the bonda, average taste and oily. Then came the medu vada, the only thing that was slightly better and crispy the first time we had it ,but much oilier when it was refilled later. Then came the dosa, which was okay and crispy, the way I like it. We then got the poori and the bhaji for the poori had zero taste. Even the salt was kinda absent. After about 20 minutes of walking in we were able to get our hands on some sambhar but the idli was not refilled at all. I am an idli aficionado and not having those refilled for about 30 minutes was a big surprise. When I asked for the idlis they eventually got something and that idli was not fully steamed. Please check the attached photo. Overall a poor experience and based on my experience, I would not recommend a visit. They need to work on their service a lot and the food is partially tasteless and average at best.
I'm hoping to try other breakfast buffets in the McKinney Frisco region that are as good as Mythris. This is...
Read morei recently tried this new palce Suravi's Chapter 2 Indian Restaurant in Frisco, Texas,The food at Suravi's Chapter 2 is a mixed feeling while the ambiance and service were commendables unfortunately ,the same ccannot be said to the food which i tasted .
I tasted their Pani Puri, which was a bit of a disappointment. The puris were a bit stale, and the filling lacked the tangy and spicy flavors that I was expecting. However, the Bhel Puri was a different story. It was a delightful burst of flavors, with a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was quite appealing. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are quite affordable.
The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. They made sure that we were comfortable. The food was served promptly, and they were quick. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a touch of elegance of indian movie poster all around. The seating is comfortable, and the overall ambiance is quite pleasant. I would go back to try their...
