We came here a few months back, and were served lukewarm/cold food. We let the server know and discussed with the manager, which they were apologetic. We didn’t want to waste food so we ate what we had. The server and manager were both awesome during our experience there, so we decided we would come back and try again another time to give them another chance. We came back today, let the waitress know about our prior experience and to please make sure we got hot food. This time we did, but my wife’s food was missing some of the ingredients. We kindly let the waitress know what happened and the manager came over to discuss. We asked for the missing ingredient so they didn’t have to recook the whole dish and we could just add in to the dish, but they made a new dish anyways, which was really good, had great flavor and eggs were cooked perfectly to her liking. She had the coffee, which was hot but was nothing special (it’s brewed coffee after all lol). Wife ordered the Parma hash, which once we had all the ingredients was really good. I ordered the Tri-Fecta which was good, but one issue I found with their light and airy waffles, once you drizzle syrup and/or spread the butter on the waffle, it gets mushy and loses its texture fairly quick. I would suggest putting syrup on the plate and just dipping each bite instead of putting on ahead of time, as the crispness of their waffle is too light and won’t hold up for more than a minute or two before getting soft and mushy. The whole point of waffles is that awesome crunch, and this was gone quickly. My son ordered the half waffle with fruit and bacon. He had same issue with the waffle that I did, but he ate his much quicker so he didn’t have as much of an issue. The bacon was flavorful and not overly salty, which was great. The waitress and manager (both different from our first trip) were both awesome, and both went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of (just like last time). Given this, we will come back again, try the food again, and hopefully have a better experience. So far for us, the ambience, wait staff and managers have all been great, the sole thing killing it for us, has been the inconsistency with the food. Our waitress even told the kitchen to please make sure to get the order correct given our past experience, and they still messed something up. Both times we have gone, was not during peak business, so it was surprising to have another issue with the food. Fingers crossed next time we come we get the same 4.6 star service/food most everyone else has been getting 😬 if you try this place out, you will probably have a great time, I guess we are just unlucky 😂

Update 12/3/23- still a favorite spot! Glad they're here. I love First Watch! I visited with my two elementary school aged kids at 7am the other day. We were the first and only patrons there, masks required, which I'm happy about. We were so early the servers hadn't arrived yet. No worries, Matt, the masked manager/ chef immediately took care of us 3. We got super fast service, DELICIOUS multigrain pancakes, and a very yummy cup of coffee for me. My kids devoured their chocolate chip giant pancakes (we ordered a 2 stack and they shared it), and I ordered a Lemon Ricotta pancake for me. Holy Lemons, that pancake is my new all-time FAVORITE! I loved it with the lemony creamy topping and strawberries. No syrup needed for me. All the pancakes are light and fluffy, fork tender. My kids opted to have some of the warm syrup drizzled on theirs. The manager made sure we had everything we needed and did not rush as at all. We were done with our visit within 30 minutes, perfect for a breakfast treat before school. The ONLY issue I had was at check out when they charged me for two seperate pancakes for the kids rather than the way I ordered it, which was a stack of 2 shared between the two kids. I had to repeatedly asked the checkout person (who finally arrived about 720am) why the total was higher than I expected. She finally went ahead and changed the kids individual pancakes to a 2-stack. I tipped 20% and my total was just shy of $25 for 3 bomb pancakes and 1 delish cup-o-joe. We've been here a couple of times before this and have always enjoyed all the food and GIANT pancakes. Will definitely be returning with the family again in the near future.

We had a great Saturday brunch here today. The atmosphere was really nice. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. A chain restaurant with a small restaurant vibe. We came at noon and only had a 5 minute wait. The juice bar option was really cool. Service was perfect. Jason got our order and food in record time and earned bonus points for not constantly interrupting us which a lot of servers do. He knew when he was needed and when to let us enjoy our breakfast without fussing over us unnecessarily. A rare talent. My husband ordered the pumpkin pancake đŸ„ž meal with an egg and turkey sausage. Pancake was incredible. Nutty and flavorful, didn't even need syrup. Syrup came to the table in a warmed glass bottle. Egg was supposed to be over easy and came over medium, point deduction there. The turkey sausage was absolutely delicious 😋. I ordered the tri-athlete. An egg white omelette with grilled mushrooms and onions, bits of zucchini and fresh pico de gallo. Nutty wheat toast with homemade jam. And fruit bowl. Omelette was good. I had an unchewable bit of onion skin so knocked off a few points for that but otherwise really good. Pico needed more kick. Toast and jam was delicious. Fruit bowl included honeydew, pineapple, blueberries and grapes. Coffee was decent. I LOVED that they leave the pitcher. Nice to not have to constantly beg for refills. Water was not good. Surely not filtered. Dallas tap water tastes like it came out of a water hose. Not their fault. Great service, vibe and food 😊

I've tried this location 3 different times and it's always a fail.

Our first visit was in person, the food was okay but the service was terrible. We had to ask our waiter multiple times for basic things and he would never bring them. We would have to bother other staff for help and even then we still couldn't get basic things like creamer, sugar, ketchup, syrup. And we did make it known immediately that we needed those items, and reminded him multiple times after waiting 30 mins.

The second experience I had with them I tried to order from Uber Eats. I ordered 2 drinks and one biscuits and gravy meal. This meal is like $15 and they literally only sent the biscuits (missing the eggs, the potatoes, and the toast). The entire rest of the meal was missing. And you can't blame uber eats to check if it's correct because they seal the bags.

My third and final experience I placed an order at the restaurant to go. There was hardly anyone there so I was served pretty quickly and the staff was nice. I placed an order for two of their skillet meals and 2 drinks to go. The bags came sealed again so I tore a hole quickly to make sure they placed the two full meals (since the whole uber eats issue). Well I didn't inspect it well enough because when I got home I realized they did atleast give me the full meals this time but they were the completely wrong skillets. And I know I ordered the correct ones. (They make like 3 different versions of the skillet meal) We ordered the ones with bacon and Monterey jack cheese and we got some feta and spinach ones instead.

I wanted to like this place, I've tried it three various ways. Most of the reviews make it seem like a great place but then every single experience I've had was a nightmare and disappointing.

It's also way overpriced considering the staff is iffy, the food is missing, or the food is always wrong. Save yourself some money and a headache and go somewhere else for...

Love the food at this place and it’s always fresh and delicious

The problem is the servers and management. I have been in 4 times in the last 6 weeks since trying for the first time. All four times I have had a different server and all 4 times the order has been wrong because the servers do not write anything down. That’s fantastic if you can get it right but it’s 4 for 4 no.

In addition the servers all seem to be a little out I it that they have to be there. For comparison, at Starwood the servers usually make an attempt to ask how you are, get to know you and check on you regularly. At first watch it seems almost as if they are coached not to do this because we are 100% not getting that kind of relationship. Not even a smile. Menus thrown down and walk away. Come back “drinks?” With no smile.

Management doesn’t seem to care as the two times we have tried to address the concerns they have told us “sorry we’re just really busy” instead of “sorry, we will get this fixed for you” once my wife ordered a blueberry pancake and was delivered a waffle. When she pointed out the problem the server took all her food (not just the waffle) and didn’t return with her food for 10 minutes. That was the response of the manager “we’re just really busy”. So I waited for my wife and my food got cold and the response was “we are busy”. I asked why the other food wasn’t left for her to eat and was told “I don’t know” and that was it

The place isn’t new so the kinks should be worked out but maybe that’s what they are going for.

We are torn because the food here is better than Starwood but Starwood has much better service (and coffee)

I wish FW would be more...
