Castiglia Italian Restaurant & Pizza — Restaurant in Front Royal

Castiglias is my favorite restaurant! Their portions are huge for the price, and I've never been disappointed with a visit. They deliver out to the mountains (which is a huge plus, since many other restaurants in froro don't).

The decor is nice, but simple. It's not over the top, which to me is preferable. I've never had any problem with the service, the couple times I've had issues (such as a mishap with online ordering) were handled quickly and without argument.

The food isn't necessarily fancy looking in presentation, but that doesn't matter to me if it's delicious! I'd personally skip this location when it comes to pizza, but I highly recommend their generously filled calzones and strombolis, as well as their bread sticks, which are chewy and fluffy and perfectly seasoned. Heck, I don't even like fries that much, and I think theirs are great. However, when it comes to appetizers, I'd pass on the mozzarella sticks. They aren't terrible or anything, but the other options I suggested are much better (in my opinion).

This is my go-to location for any celebration dinner or hangouts with friends. Great comfort food, great prices, and I've never left without feeling completely stuffed and satisfied. I highly recommend trying it out if you haven't already!

I wanna start off by saying I used to love this place and would recommend it to many people that live around town, relatives and the like. That being said, today was a very poor experience. A week and a half ago, I called and ordered the same thing as always: 2 hot subs and an appetizer sampler totaling out at $31.37 plus tip out the door. Fast forward to today, I made the exact same order for pickup and was totaled out to $41.xx. Upon arriving and speaking with staff, we discovered that they were actually inadvertently charging for toppings that come included in the items. Worked things out with them after discovering that a new point of sale system is being worked with. I understand that after working in the industry, new point of sale systems can be terrible. So I just pay and get on down the road. Get home and discover the wrong topping on one sub. I asked for a shake of red pepper flakes added into steak and cheese meat to give a little spice while cooking it up, reveived roasted red peppers at a nice upcharge. Noted as well that the cheese that was double charged for was all stuck to the paper of the sub wrapping. This required the removal of the cheese that was paid for to avoid eating the paper. Wrong sauce provided with app sampler. Just over all poor, overpriced, poor...

Having lived in Naples, Italy we know good pizza. We know it's very hard to find anywhere in the US (understanding the dairy regulations and so the cheese options are different between the 2 countries), but Castiglia's comes about as close as we have found. Better still, the staff at Castiglia's from the owner/management to the high school part time workers, each takes great pride in the restaurant and makes every customer feel valued. We have enjoyed our numerous dining in experiences (always had excellent waitstaff), and taken out numerous times as well. Most recently we needed a large take out order for delivery to a reception at a different address and a specific time. They were perfect and gave us all the confidence in advance they would be, so we had no worries and they came through with their regular excellence! And beyond pizza, their subs (especially their cheese steaks!) are fantastic. We'll be returning and eventually sample their whole menu. Gino and his staff are always happy to see their customers, they work hard to keep them and earn new ones, and clearly enjoy what they do, which they do so well.
