Frida’s House — Restaurant in Gaffney

Literally THE BEST! I'm pretty sure my husband and I have eaten here almost 100 times in two years. We made our first visit when we were looking at a house in Gaffney to buy (when they were previously named Cantinita's), and I honestly think it helped solidify the decision to buy the house as crazy as that sounds. We've come back almost every Saturday since (typically the only night we go out to eat). The family who owns and runs this restaurant are the sweetest, and strongest people I've ever seen; they've had several events out of their control that normally would deter a business (like someone smashing into their building the morning of their biggest day of the year: Cinco De Mayo) and somehow they pull together and think creatively.to still open to ensure their customers are happy. The food is sooo good. I ALWAYS get chicken fajitas without beans and zucchini and they memorized my order. The chicken has so much flavor! My husband usually picks something new each time and has loved everything he's had. The salsa bar has so many options and each flavor is addictive. The portions are huge and I have enough leftovers for another meal or two when we leave. We've taken several family and friends when they visit here and they absolutely love the food as well. Each server is wonderful but I want to especially mention DOMINIC. He is amazing and the most attentive server you'll ever have. He will check in with you several times to make sure you're okay and see if you need anything and he is so thoughtful. My husband had a serious health issue and ended up in the hospital and so we had to forego our date night out for a few weeks but I still went in to pick up dinner and Dominic was so sweet asking me about him and praying for him--which really touched my heart at a time where I was so scared about what was happening to him. 10/2023 - Taco Tuesday is great!! Salsa bar has different salsas and they're phenomenal! Good atmosphere and they treat you respectfully! In the area be sure to drop by!

3/2024 - Update: Visited the location with friends from another county who never been before and the service was great. Had issues with the portions now and the prices. Ordered a small cheese dip and and was surprised by the size of the bowl it was brought out in. Honestly, it should have been $3.00 but they charged $5.00 for the little black bowl. Also, they have these little salsa cups on the salsa bar, my friend ordered a side order of pico de gallo and the waiter bought it out in one of those little cups and they had the nerve to charge $1.50 for that! I was astonished! The food and service is very good but really don't overdue it. We go all the time and wanted to bring others to the restaurant because we have raved about how good it is and we felt so bad about those portions for those prices. On top of this my friend was charged $62 for one adult beverage! The waiter actually charged them for 7 drinks instead of 1. LOL!!! Overall, we will go back and we will continue to bring new people to experience but I do hope you read this review and consider changing your pricing on cheese dip and pico de gallo. So my friend and I went here for lunch on a weekday, was not busy whatsoever but was extremely disappointed in our experience. Don't get me wrong, the food was pretty good and the portions are great for the price you pay. However, the staff treated us as if we were an inconvenience to them. It took them 15 minutes to even greet us and get us some water! We kept trying to get the attention of the waiters/waitresses and we kept getting ignored. We were about to leave since no one was attending to us before a waitress asked if we had been helped. We placed our order and the waitress did not write any of our orders down. I do not mind when the staff does not write my order down, if they can memorize it correctly. I'd rather the waiter/waitress write down my order so that I am not being asked what I ordered every 5 minutes.
